OK, since I have been the person fussing about staying on topic, so I started this one. It is for expossing all of those cheating S.O.B.s that disgrace our hobby/job/career/addiction.
Tiny mentioned that he has a video of Jay cheating, how did he do it? What about Aurthor? Jay and I got into an arguement after he set the record last year. What ever, Jay...
So let's have at it guys...

There has been alot of talk about cheating, yet very little proof (none actually). I suggest that to those pointing the finger, if you can prove it say it. If you can not prove it then keep your mouth shut! Has anyone thought about how they would feel if they were acused of cheating when in fact they had worked hard to get where they are? I am not trying to defend any losers out there because cheating is wrong. I am just saying think before you speak or you might be the next to be acused. (take it from someone who knows)

Does this topic really need to be discussed, again? It's all in the past and there's nothing we can do about it now, whether we agree or disagree with it.

If there is a video floating around, whether it proves anybody was cheating or not, what is it going to solve? Like I posted before...It's all in the past. New records will be set this year at finals, hopefully this kind of discussion won't be taking place next year, and the past will (hopefully) be forgotten.

I email the person. I have a copy of that video of Jay. I have a short section of it on the net. If anyone is interested email me and tell me if you want the .mpg or .RM.

I don't see a problem with skeptics discussing unrealistic numbers. And a discussion of different methods of cheating will lead to people being more informed. Hopefully this will make it much harder for people to cheat. I've learned to worry about holes in a dash and feed-through connectors for mic cables. As long as things stay fairly civil there isn't a problem IMO.

What needs to be discussed is the methods of cheating, not making wild, crazy acusations about people cheating. We have done that, but we have yet to discuss the "hows" of cheating. And that is/was the purpose of me starting this string.

In our quest for answers We have found a few things. One of the more interesting is as follows. By connecting the blue mic cable wire via a momentary switch to the ground jacket we were able to put out audiocontrol OVER as well as showing 176.9 etc. The problem we encountered in this test was the results varied significantly and were hard to time with a burp. Since finals we have found this method (by accidently crimping our mic cable) and I believe that this is a possible explanation.

Speaking of "Aht," since he was using speakers that were prototypes, or not commercially availible at the time, shouldn't he have been placed into the Extreme class? People fussed about Clark and Maynor's 6 foot sub, it was as avaible as the Power DVCs at that time.
As for Jay Lovelace, I got two words for him...Haven't liked him since we got into an arguement on the old forum after he set the record.

Yes, Art was using Power DVC's, even though they were not available at the time. He however had mis-matching dust cones on every sub so nobody could tell. Maybe he knew, maybe his installer Jamie knew, maybe only RF knew..... who knows? hehe I was offered the Power DVC's for my van before finals, but turned it down...because I DON'T CHEAT. I was proud to do a 163.8db at 30HZ with my regular DVC's... and shattered the windshield too! hehe
