I've been debating whether to use two RF DVC 15inch subs sealed or 3 DVC 10's ported. Which setup would probably work the best in a large 4-door sedan in the trunk? You guys gotta help me out. Also, can a MMATS D300HC handle a 2.67 ohm load smoothly?

funny you should pose this question, I had an image dynamics idq dvc 15"(that I liked very much).
BUT i just installed 3 10" punch dvc's, they are very tight, play low and get loud as hell .
I would run the 10"s anyday

I'd take the 15's over the 10's. The 15's have a cone area advantage over the 3 10's. It would take 3 12's to equal the cone area of 2 15's.

I do like how 10's are very tight though. But if you put those 15's in a nice box...they'll be clean.

break out the calculator !
3 10's not equal to a 15" cone area ?
try again the area of three fosagate 10's is 162.75 in^3
the area of a 15" fosgate 133 in^3
3 12"s = 251.13 in^3
so three 12's are more like 2 15"s, give or take 14in^3

Now, now children play nice... IMO I would take the 15"s, port them and get louder... Quick question, what kind of music do you listen to??? Do you like fast bass or are you a boomer??? These are also important factors...

I'm seeing many a misinformed mind on this thread. First of all, how is a 10" tighter than a 15"? The cone area situation goes as follows:
3 10" = 240 in^2
2 15" = 353.6 in^2
Those are figures for area also, not in^3 which would represent volume, as someone was stating earlier. 3 10" can do low 150's in a trunk with adequate power and will only require a smallish ported enclosure. I've yet to see two fifteens in a trunk, sealed do 150's. From this point, I'd have to be going with the 10's.

u know, i asked the same question a while ago (6 months +) and everyone told me to go with the 2 15's over the 3 10's. sure th 10's are tighter, but with a good box the 15's will be fine. I think its funny i just answered my own question. aight much luv
