We have done a lot of HCCA subs and most with Orion amps. We have done a few without the Orion amps and they were alot better off. I like the subs but I hate those amps. I think they are gutless and weak. Use the subs but find new amps!

Hmm I dont think I have seen that....But also I heard something about warrenty saying if they are not ran on a HCCA amps the warrenty is not valid....Dont know how they can prove that OR if it is even true...

But about the gutless amp? Application and install is key...I know a number of people that would beg do differ and have proof. But you have your opinion and that is cool....I am not here to start that Orion sucks arguement

Yeah, there is a kid in the 1-2 woofer class running 2 hcca 15's off of 4 Crossfire CFA 1000 D's . He's hitting in the low 160's. Saw the car in Indy and at the Equalizer show. Pretty Impressive, I think the windshield in the car is VERY questionable though. I'm sure they will be at finals.

I didnt say Orion amps were crap I am just not impressed at all with what they do. Like the 275r, rated at over 1000 watts so they say. We had that runnin 1 15" and then put one of kenwood's mono block 401M in and gained about 2 db. And the sound quality change was night and day. I also have a freind runnin 9 of the memphis class D amps to nine 15's and he has not had one problem yet.

Well the factory specs at 600RMS and 1200PEAK. I know people that have a single 250R to that sub and that is a rated 800RMS and others that have a single 275R that is rated 1200 watts rms...Both those ratings are at 1 ohm mono 12 volts. If you have the type crossover like the HCCAR series have on them and can cut out the LOW LOW stuff so that it wont play below the tuning of the ported box all is cool. I dont know about sealed...I haev never seen on in a sealed box....

From what I was told Orion does not recommend any bigger then a 250R for any of the HCCA subs.....Weither they take it or not..

I am personally looking at doing a 275R to a single HCCA 15..and then 225 or 250's for mids. This is in a SQ car but I want the extra power for what ever. I will not have to worry about lack of power. I will have to upgrade the alt but O well. This all for a little ole SQ car
