I am about to start designing my new box for four xtreme audio xdb 15's. I have read somewhere before that when the box starts getting larger then the cab, the subs start using the cab as the enclosure. My question is: is it better to have the box smaller then the cab, and tune the port to the box, or have the cab smaller then the box and tune the port to the cab?

you can do whatever you want.
if you can make the box bigger than the cab, then figure the total airspace in the cab and tune w/ that, otherwise just tune as you normally would.

I respect any sub that can make me pass out.
