I am installing 3 12W6's in a huge ported box in a 96 Blazer. They will be run by a Hifonics Zeus. Anybody have any experience with spl installs in a Blazer? I tried a 15' box tuned to 50 hertz. The front of the box was a wall with all three woofs in line across the bottom and the port above them....all were firing at the windshield. The port has 144 cubic inches of area. It barely broke 145! I tried the box facing backward and it did 144! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen several installs in blazers and none of them have been too impressive. The last one I saw was a blazer with 2 Stroker 15's powered by 2 Kicker Zr600's and it only hit 145-146. JBSMOOTH on here works with a guy who used to have 8 Orion 2nt 12's running off 4 Xtreme 800's in a Blazer, maybe he can help you out.

thanks! By the way we spent about six hours playing with the box in the blazer and still couldn't beat 145! This car did a 146.7 with the same subs in a shared 3.5 cubic foot sealed box facing the rear of the car. The guy who owns the car said every type of box he's tried pressures best facing the rear! Thanks in advance for any advice!

I have worked on an install with 6 AFTER SHOCK 12's in a flat wall (ported). Three across, two high. The guy has two ESX Q475i on the 6 subs and does 151-152 consistent with no cabin modification whatsoever. His main problem is that he needs more power. Hope this helps some too - oh, by the way, this guy still has a functional back seat too!

rozzyroz,
See Mike or Myself at the Defiance show and we will hook you up. Kara Lucius will be there with her Chevette, and I will be with her. See you there.

I think it's AD, but one of the guys on this page has some nice pics of his beasty-blazer and oh-so-sweet talon! Might want to take alook, me thinks he uses 6 or 8 JLs, very nice looking install too. Think he was in 150-land.

Ya I work with a guy that had the 8 12's in the back behind the back seats all in independent sealed boxes and it did ok. I am not a fan of Orion amps though, personally i think they suck. Oh well. He did 148 and 149 most the time. Nothing real good but not bad. If ya really want to get loud and serious ya need to rip the back seats out and do the wall right behind the fronts. Heck i lost 2 rows of seats in my astro. I had 8 12's in my 5.0 mustang which is my daily driver and it did 153-154 most the time at DB Drags. I didnt mind losing the back seats that much. I dont know if this was much help, but good luck!
