I really do not appreciate you attempting to call me a cheater today. I always play by the rules and will allow Fred or anyone else to check out my car at a moments notice. The literature you attempted to get me disqualified with was not the sub I was using. If you will check the website you will see the difference. The NICHE has a retail price of $249, well within Consumer rules. Your sportmanship needs a tune up dude. This is not the first time this has happened.

actully the only reason i had done so was someone in the crowd said that those subs cost 500 each so i had made some calls to see if it was true

2nd of all this is the first time it happened i did not say anything to the judges about the high output alternater in your car at jays shop and that is the only other time i had met you .... so if it happened before i would like to know where it was ..... last of all if you are playing by the rules you have nothing to worry about i just had to make sure that you were. to many people cheat in this sport and if your subs are legit congrats you crushed me

Congrats Chad on the win this past weekend. As to the subs in question here, I hven't seen them to know. I do know that Chad is well aware of the rules of NSPL, and that as often as he shows up to NSPL shows that if there were some infractions along the way that Fred would have called him on them. Especially being the NSPL World Finals, Fred wants the recognition that DB Drag and other organizations have, and he can't get that by not having a great finals with strict rules enofrcement.

i did what you said and checked out there sight the only thing i could find on the niche was they are not avail. yet. so maybe that is why the people i trusted to get the info because i could not look it up for myself for the fact no one in that area had internet avail. on a sunday. being on top you should expect that when you show up with speakers that most people have not heard of before including me that they will check up on them. making sure people play by the rules is also part of comps. and for someone to get mad cause they were checked on is also unsportmanship you should be able to laugh and smile as say that they just dont know ....when i had people suggest i was cheating i made sure from the judges that i wasent. and the one time when i found out my car had issues that i did not know were issues i fixed them on the spot.... get over it.

I did not get mad because you checked. You checked on the wrong equipment. If you would have taken two seconds to ask what type they were, I would have gladly told you. The sub is a production sub, just not on Matt's website yet. At any rate, +/-4 dB would have been impossible to pull back regardless what I used. I actually considered puttin my 12 inch Excursion's in the car on the final run.

Congrats Chad there will always be haters you know that you was legit its just someone always has to say something (usually the one that gets beat) Anyways MDSPL I don't want to say much bout your setup but have you considered facing the subs off some other panel other than stuck up against the very rear of the car! You must have had only 1" between the rear panel of the car and the subs. Deal with people straight up cause you might make some friends and learn something as well. Great job Chad and I am going to be e-mailing you soon bout the ports for my Eclipse subs. Just going to make the enclosure first and then port it! Thanks for your help in advance

my box was 5.5" from the real panel. second, like i said before the only reason i had to do this is cause i have never heard of the subs before ... and someone in the crowd said to me that those subs are the exact ones his friend was going to buy and that they were $500 each, how would you react if i came up with subs that no one has ever heard of before and someone tell you i have $500 subs personally if you were in fourth place i would have said something. why you ask it is to keep things in check if no one ever checks on people what the point of having rules. i could have brought my 12" hollywood excursion pro's which is louder ... however they cost 259 each retail... looking from the top of the sub you could not tell the difference between the pro and the 1280d which meant if i wanted to be a sneek i could be .... but i have the pride to compeate in the class that i do.
CONGRATS ON THE WIN

First of all, congrats to ALL of the winners at the 2001 NSPL Finals. I couldn't make it for personal reasons but I bet it was a blast. I'll be back next year to regain my title
Conclusive and mdspl, it's cool to disagree and plead your case but just keep it clean. Both of you are arguing your case in a PROFESSIONAL manner and I respect that but make sure it stay like that. I'm just trying to do my job as a moderator on the forum so don't get mad at me. Both of you are VERY tough competitors and I like that.

I understand your point MDSPL about what someone said but you can't just go and believe everything they say. AUdioMObile does not have a sub yet that will cost close to $500 even their new Evo-R 15" will only run $349. I am sure that everything will cool off but i got some questions about your install and I am not downing it I am just wondering why you decided to go with rear firing enclosure instead of tilting the subs to "reflect" off the rear glass? Just wondering?
