No bashing on Stetsom, because I run Stetsom, but I know of an amp, that is basically the same size,as the 2k6d's,but are stronger.I knew about them way before they were even assembled. But had to promise to keep quiet. Gus.....you and I need to talk.

so you guys don't think two sundown 1500's can keep up with a 2k6? also zapco 9.0's have a 175 amp fuse rating so 2 of these would be legal in 0-400. and on a 14v batcap that's about 7000 watts. so it's not just the stetsom's than can do that kind of power with low fuse ratings. i can think of three or four others that also can. you just gotta look.

2 Sundown 1500d's can keep up with a 2K6, but that's 320 amps of fuse rating, so they aren't permitted in the 200 amp classes, you can only run one.

didn't realize there was a 200 amp class. but still the 9.0 would work, and be very close if not higher than the 2k6. also only a few shops hold shows anymore due to business, and not much return on spl. so stetsom stepping up and sponsoring these shows has helped. why doesn't sundown do this since they seem to "care" so much. i know maxxsonics, pioneer, and others do it in some organizations. maybe you guys could start, and then get more input on the rules at the end of the season. also to think that stetsom designed these amps to circumvent nspl rules is crazy. how much of there 40 million+ gross sales in brazil comes from nspl, dbdrag, or iasca? not enough to matter would be my guess.

we aren't saying they were BUILT to circumvent the rules.
But if you say an amp that people run at less then a 1/4 of an ohm is only a 2 ohm stable amp just so the current draw will be able to put this amp in a lower class, then yes, its circumventing the amp rules.
Jacob could say his new 3000ds are 8 ohm only and they only pull 75 amps, and if you run lower then 8 ohm you void the warranty...and then its the same thing as stetsom is doing now

the amp really won't run under 2 ohm daily is what i'm trying to say. you might could get away with 1.5, but that's about it. these things were 2ohm way before nspl. since they strap in parallel the 7kd which is 2 2k6d's is one ohm. but each board still sees 2 ohm. and justin if your gonna post on here why not answer the people you owe money's questions first.

Still a bit too small to fully sponsor shows. Stetsom, IIRC, has been in business for 20 years. It's a bit easier afford to sponsor shows after being in business for 20 years than for 2 years.
I'd love to as I enjoy shows, just wouldn't work financially at this time.

I've been in contact with everybody I owe money to...why try to turn an amp discussion into something more? I'm past the point of this situation where I'm gonna argue and get upset on the internet though
See, that was something I didn't know is that you couldn't daily the Stetsoms at under 2 ohm. And also that was a good point about the parallel strapping...
But would around 400 amps of draw not make it more like a 4/5000 watt amp instead of an 8k? If it does its power at 2 ohm where its rated 400 amps?
I believe if the amp had a 4/5000 watt sticker on it instead of 8k then this situation would have never occured.
Don't get it twisted with me Ryan, I don't have any personal vendetta against you, Alan, Stetsom, or even Chad ( ). But I know that Nick Wright did this EXACT same thing in MECA when the 20.1s came out and basically made MECA totally reconfigure the way the classes were structured.
Nick said the amps were to be played at 2 ohms only, and rated them 900 watts at 2 ohms. But you could run them at .25 and get 3k+ out of them. Then meca went to fuses, I have friends that compete in NSPL and I don't want to see this org go the same way MECA did.
But to try to pick a fight with me because I posted a thought? Just have a dicussion and lets not let it get dirty

Nor do I.
Everyone here knows what I do for a living, so I may get out of hand once in a while.
I have no dog in the discussion at hand, but I do hope Fred is reading all these comments and comes to an amicable conclusion for all parties involved.
NSPL is a very fair organization and the majority of competitors are happy with Freds decisions.

the amp is a 2200 watt amp at 12v and 2ohm. they were originally made for those guys running outside spl in brazil, with the huges stacks of speakers and horns. and at 1ohm the 7kd is less than 5000 watts. probably closer 4k on 12v.
