I want to make it clear that we are NOT eliminating our existing Street competition in it's current form. (The Street Division currently represents our LARGEST group of contestants.) Our goal is to come up with a solution where individuals with normal stereo systems can participate, retailers who sell these products can benefit, manufacturers will have an incentive to participate in dB Drag Racing again, and the overall number of contestants participating will grow.

I suspect that there will be some class name shuffling that will take place as well as some merging of classes in other divisions. (For example, the Street Division in it's current form may be called something different.) I am working on a statistical report right now that shows the number of contestants that participated in each class in 2007.

i suggest to combine the current street A and B
the difference in scores is not that big

then make a new class for new people with restricted rules and keep them restricted , so that it would stay payable for people to compete
keep it low budget so that the guy on the street can compete with their daily instal

the current street classes has gone to far over the many years to make drastic changes
to much money and time has been invested
(i'm not talking about only myself)

I think it's a great idea to open up a new class for the rookies and newcomers. I've seen ideas being posted in a few places so here are my ideas for a new class. Why not call it the Amateur class, or rookie class. And to make it fair,

-limit to one run of power wire from battery back.
-limited CCA on batteries. 2000 CCA or less?
-Batteries with less than 600 Cu in?
-Make all batteries commercially available, like Optima or DieHards, something a normal stereo guy would have in their car.
-no sponsored cars in Street classes.
-If you go with fuses, make them commercially available fuses and placed at the battery, not the amps where cheating can happen.
-Limit the amps to one amp with single power and ground.
-No HO Alts or capacitors over 5 farads
-Let them run their vehicle
Or make the new street class a power class, 0-700 watts, 700-1500 watts and 1500+watts.
Just a few ideas and things I wanted to see when I was first starting out.
