As much as this will hurt me. (Iam not that loud). I think Extreme should be 2 classes. 1 to 2 and 3+.

Combining classes in extreme, will make more people quit. leave the classes the same. On the pie chart combining classes makes sence, but only on paper imo. Retiring might come a early by the looks of it.

This reducing of class count is thing what i really don't understand. If cost of trophies is issue then it is smaller minus thing if you drop only trophies away from these classes what are planned to drop/combine. And anyway, dropping ext1 away is not good idea at all. Why taking away way class what is needed smallest amount(One woofer+4amps) of equipment because combining ext1+ext2 is equal than taking away ext1

I was collecting some info from years 2001-2007. I was using "Maximum certified score" for filtering and here is list and graph how many competitors has been competed in 2x or 3x competitions in those years.
For my eyes it looks that ext1 and ext2 should leave alone and combining should make between ext3-4 and ext 5+. Or maybe dropping only ext5+ away. It is cheap to take stuff out from car but is is really expensive to put more stuff in.
Worst thing is if ext1 is taken away.

Interesting results. also interesting that there is more competiors going to multi points this year than 2001. This makes alot of sence when seeing the graph.
Ex 1 EX 2 EX 3+
Would keep extreme competiors going and still decreacing class. A good happy medium i think.
Good info Mikko.

I don't can WE do more than only hope that they will leave alone those ext1 and ext2 classes. Of course it is BAD thing for ext4 car what is against car what has double amount of power but at least he had change to take 2 woofers out and step down. Like i said earllier it is cheaper to take stuff out than buying more.

If there is a need to change something in the Extreme classes , this would be my opinion to
Personaly tought : i would not change many in Extreme classes to see still in 2008 the extreme cars out there that are still in competition today
