Car products for car audio competition.
Seems to make sense to me
I agree u totally. But u need to know that the difference between telecom and car audio battery is very very small. Sometimes there is even no difference. This fact makes the judging of a battery painful and impossible. Of course u can use a certificate like DOT. BUT... the laws especially in germany are much more hard than in the states. So maybe a battery would be legal in the states, but illegal in europe. I am not sure if this would even be possible but it can be ...
@SCT-Garry: I totally agree u. But maybe in the states telecom batteries are not being use much for car hifi use. I donīt know.
I understand completely... they're basically the same battery.
The problem is that for the NSB and the Powercell there is no difference. But we both know that next year someone will push the limits even further.
Every time a grey area is found in the rule books people push it further and further.
If these batteries are fine then I'll be ok with it. I'm just worried about that this could lead to something much worse

because of that:
"I really wouldnīt drop the term "automotive". Otherwise u get soon batteries having lithium cells etc. Or some guys might be trying to find very powerful 2 volt cells and put 6 of them into one box. Then u get again the problem we had with multicells and this will kill dbdrag totally."
Yes,maybe battery's with nuclear power If the battery meets the requirements about volume, number of cells, voltage,i really don't see the problem. Wath about this: Tomorrow i discover a new technologie ,i can make amps smal as shoebox with 50000 watts output and a current draw 100 amp and make it commercial available. But it's a really expensive amp. I'm shure that "someone",hardcore street guy is gonna buy my amp,no matter the price. This is the same with the battery's. Is this "killing" the "sport"??? Don't think so,there's always gonna be verry expensive (legal) equipment that the average "joe" like you can't afford.(sorry for this). But that's the way it is and wil always be. So let's stop the bull****,and let's start competing

i was waiting for this to show up, marine batterys have been used for car stereo for decades, for the main reason back then, they could be totally drained, and recharge without damage. some of the most popular batterys have been marine for years.

As usual, the Street competitors are split right down the middle on this issue.
Here is what I would like to do...
We will remove the "automotive" clause from the rule. But, the dBDRA will reserve the right to prohibit any battery we feel is circumventing the battery power limitation in the Street Stock and Street divisions. We will see how things go in 2008. My advice to comperitors is to stay away from batteries that you suspect could be a problem.
