If you have multicell batteries and hardcore equipment, just move to street max. Street B and C scores are just as loud or louder than current street max scores, I think!

If people haddnt have bought the silly batteries in the first place, we wouldnt be in the situation of having to ban them...

Look, in my eyes its a personal thing. If WH wanted to make a playing place for the open market he would have made the rules to make every one happy. Dont tell me inpossable, were there is a will there is a way.

No,you'r wrong, sorry, they schouldnt be allowed from the first time . But the "gods" decided otherwise at that time, and now they decided to ban them. Everybody has to jump arround like fools, agree with everything the "gods" come up with. For now almost four months after the new season has started. By the way,who is "we"???

Your right, they shouldnt have ever been allowed from when they were first discovered, blatantly breaks one of dbdrags primary rules, but no-one upheld it
PS, Its the "royal we"

I am sorry that this correction has caused grief for some contestants and companies. The dBDRA officiating staff worked for a long, long time to come up with a solution that would minimize impact on existing competitors.
To understand why these changes were necessary, it is important to understand the original vision for the Street Division of competition. This division was created as an "entry-level" competition format where normal, everyday auto sound enthusiasts could participate and have a decent chance of winning. System cost was always a primary concern.
Over the years, we have tried many different techniques for limiting the cost of competition in the Street division. Ultimately, we elected to use an electrical power limitation and conductor rule to achieve this goal. By not allowing the vehicle to run, and by strictly limiting the size and quantity of batteries that could be used, the size of the amplifier was limited by the total amount of input power available. This technique has worked well for quite some time. Recently, several new style batteries were introduced that effectively circumvented the input power limitation. Essentially, this allowed very large (expensive) amplifiers to be used in a division that was originally inteded as an entry level for contestants.
Over the past year, we have received numerous, numerous complaints regarding these batteries. In addition, it became clear that the cost to be competitive in the Street Division was in the tens of thousands of dollars. The scores became so high that the participation of new contestants in these classes evaporated. Even many experienced dB Drag Racing competitors could no longer afford to be competitive due to the high cost of batteries, amplification, etc.
To address the concerns, and to insure the continued growth of dB Drag Racing, the officiating staff and myself developed the changes you see today.
Our goal was to minimize the impact to existing competitors. As you can see, none of the rules regarding the actual installation of equipment has changed. In a worst case scenario, a competitor could change batteries and/or remove some of his amplification. This extra equipment could then be sold or used as spares. Or, the competitor could move up into another class intended for hardcore type competitors.
By correcting the battery problem and adding new restrictions to the amplifier quantity, we believe that the cost for participating in the Street Division will become more realistic and participation in these classes will grow.

We are working on a better definition. We want to looses the "wall test" a little bit more than it is today.
The Street Stock and Extreme OS rules are being developed right now. This is why these threads are open in the dB Drag Racing forum. Your input is greatly appreciated.
