It is so hard to determine wattage of an amp and to limit power. There has to be a way to be fair and to make it easy for the judges.
Limiting the amount of amplifiers is one way but I think you must then limit the size of that amp. Keep it to one amp in street A and B, and 2 amps in Street C. Then there should be a power conductor rule or fuse rule. Maybe limit to one positive and one negative power wire per amp.

My intentions here are to make it so the type of system that you can buy and get installed at CC, BB, and most any retail shop can compete and have a chance to win. Most big amps at stores are 1500w and below and that would work very well with these rules. Then its all up to the box design. I am also in favor of letting street cars run in the lanes again. Most street type systems play while driving and it only makes sense that people would want to see what their car is capable of hitting when setup like thay actually listen to it.

Wayne Harris Certified Circuit Breakers that fit into "standard Fuse Holders" Judges hold circuit breakers, These would not be "auto reset"

WHE can also sell these certified circuit breakers for testing.

have classes based on breaker ratings basicly.

EVERY SHOP i know of Suggest fuse holders/fuses to protect people cars.

competitor pulls out the fuse, judge places breaker and removes breaker from vehicle.

competitor puts his fuse back in for daily driving.

That would take forever. Plus this is ment for the general public. Not everyone will have the same style fuse.

lets see here, umm for the competitor, a $20 to $80 (really nice fuse holder) or $2500 to $5000 for one of 2 amps for the SMALLEST class. Now i might not be a Doctor of Mathmatics, but i know which one i would choose.

i say leave street the same and add 2 new mini street classes for new comers and let mini street be a class at finals.
have 1 class with a 1500w one amp limit and street b rules and the other class with street c rules with a one amp 3000w limit all rated at 1 ohm and limit the battery in mini street classs to $299 retail only that would fix the expensive part of being able to win on a budget.

This is exactly what I was thinking, this way new people that are coming into the sport don't feel left out and can be competitive in a class.

I think a couple of new street classes is a good Idea, to get newbies into the sport. I see at a lot of shows guys with maybe $1000 of equipment say "I'm not even going to try, so and so has $10,000 worth of equipment, I can't compete with that."

I think that power limitations will not work, I remember the days of cheater amps (got a Lanzar Opti 50c in the closet myself). I think the only real way to limit the new classes would be with fuses, as mentioned. JMHO.
