I really feel that the head judge running shows should get 8 points for judging the show however 1/2 of the points required for finals must be received from other events not judged by them
This will help in many ways.
1. Help the show run more smoothly, it really can slow down a show if the judge had to get his vehicle, and worse yet if they are going against someone.
2. Help keep the thought of "it was rigged" from newer competitors that are in the same class
3. Maybe some of these competitors that have meters can get more shows going.
If you start to say, but thats not fair, spend the money get a meter if you dont already have one and judge some shows.

I like the idea. Multipoint judges aren't supposed compete but the local guys trying to get things going shouldn't have to make the choice.
When figuring out what to do remember that it is easier for me to just go to a show then host my own, which I have done. This would mean less shows not more. If you get 8 points for hosting a show put it in a class for Promoter. They count toward finals and it is easy to track who got them.

if I competed, I would have to get 1/2 of my points from someone else's shows. Ok, WHEN would I have time???
Also, maybe they could only get scores from their single points events and not have a certified score from their own.
Example: If the judge wanted to cheat, they would only be cheating others out of 1-2 points VS a certified score. Also, if they are cheating, they come finals ( the only show that matters ) they would get inspected by all the other judges and not themselfs. This means, they could not cheat at Finals.
Also, what is the advantage of a judge competing? Bigger car count, they accumulate points for finals. They get to have fun with eveyrone else. They get to possibly demo their product for everyone including dealer.
Negatives - Beating another competitor and being accused of cheating. Accumulating 1/2 of their points easily. Promoting the product in their vehicle.
What is the negative of NOT competing - 1 less competitor at finals. No demoing vehicle at shows. Having less of an invested interst in the show ( if he doesn't compete, why should we? )
Postitive of NOT competing - Not beating another competitor. More time for show.
I dont see that it matters especially when they have to get 1/2 their points elsewhere.

do you want to compete or do you want to be a judge?
TOTAL AND ABSOLUTE CONFLICT OF INTEREST
if a shop is hosting a show and they have a team why not give the whole team 8 points each, that way it wont slow down their retail sales that day.
i am not trying to be a prick nathan however i feel very strong on this, a competitor is a competitor and a judge is a judge.
erie
well at a time when no judges were avail in my area, yet i still wanted to compete, what else could i do but step up to the plate to judge shows.
How many less people do you think there would have been at finals if i had not judged shows, personally i rather compete then judge. that way i can have some fun.
And not to Many Stores are willing to pay the cost of me let alone for someone else to travel all the way over here.

I competed time and time again while running shows. Several times being the first up would break the ice, sometimes showing first time competitors how to do bass race and experience it up close.
