When we ran a Side Show to DBDR called Krazy 8's, Kicker stepped in big time, also it was a GREAT way to get people to use their products.

The reason I like this is that it is fresh, anybody can scrounge up an 8 and an amp. It also is as much about the cook as the kitchen, so to speak. So Let me run it down
1) Ya have to use a Kicker woofer. If you don't have as good of taste in amps, You can slide this time....cause I am playin nice and there is always hope for a lost soul. 2) The winner of the midwest show and the east coast show each get : A fresh L7 8 to go forth and conquer again. A License plate so thieves can spot the Loudest car in the lot A Decal and A CD Case If the overall(both Shows)winner has a Kicker Woof,a 1200.1 will be launched in their direction
I need a photo of the winner. Now go get kRaZZeD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posts: 68 | From: Stillwater OK | Registered: Oct 2002 | IP: Logged |
Now basicly when Manufactors want to really support their competitors and have pr , they can do something like this where you must use their products to get extra awards, and make it public knowledge, thus making people want to buy their products BTW at the time the 1200.1 was kickers big dog amp, and was well worth the try to buy a kicker product to see if you could win that amp.
More over if the company states which products you can use, hopefully the more budget minded products so everyone can afford it. from my understanding (of course i could be wrong) these budget products not only are more uptainable for most people, but also have the higher profit margins for the stores to make more money.

This realy sound's like it could get some people to show up. I would have gone a bought a kicker sub if I had a chance to win a amp.
I wonded if this could be used by places like BB and CC. If you win useing stuff you bought there get a gift card or something....any one that bought stuff there probley would show up. Might even get people to buy stuff the day of the show....sale's are good for every one.

I'm definitely all about Krazy 8's, I would however be curious if we could expand the subs and amps choices - there is more to life than Kicker! But, because of Kicker's support and the invention of this competition venue, 8 inch speakers and the respective technologies has surged forth in recent years. I feel it would nice to be able to show off manufacturer's accomplishments. And due to the fact that more companies have made 8s 'what they are', and more people actually use 8's, Kicker only- is a limitation for those who already have product. Prizes leading to - upgrade product - would be a good way for manufactures to 'win' over new users as well. I like competition, period!

I really like this. BB and CC dont carry eights though. But I have been wanting to see large support for a Krazy 8 class for a while.

Well see, that's my point - by showing that 8" speakers are in demand, the stores will be encouraged to expand their inventory to include said product. This is where we the people - can influence the market - that is what this is about, right?!

You have to be seriously kidding if you think creating a Krazy 8 class would effect the market ...

i dont think so. but if you can influence the whole market more power to ya.
i think that the market is there we just need to get them interested in competing.
i see new kids with new systems everyday and i live in a highly depressed area of the country.
i think if you want to influence anyone influence the shops in your area to throw shows more often.

That is what basically what I meant. I was not referring to one only product, but that as an example - and leading to more oppurtunities for expansion. I myself will be doing shows soon, and in more areas than my near center, hopefully that can help out somewhere.
