I just tune to the freq. of the box. I don't know if you have to find the res. freq. of the car first before you tune your system. It just worked out that 49hz was best for me.

I guess I meant like all-around tuning by ear . . . some of us just don't have O-scopes at our disposal. For instance, I heard one of Michael Jackson's (Dangerous, I think) disks is really good for it. I was just trying to get some ideas.

I use Eric Clapton's Unplugged CD, the 4 Autosound 2000 CD's, and an IASCA comp. CD. Also sometimes use a Celine Deion CD female vocals are the hardest, and also very little chance of getting caught up in the music and not tuning properly.

That's funny as hell . . . I agree. Definitely not getting distracted with that stuff. Some stuff I've found DOESN'T work very well is Prodigy. It's recorded so bass heavy that if you make it sound balanced, everything else you play sounds weak on the bottom end.

try "smack my b1tch up" by prodigy on "the fat of the land". that track is normalized to 0 db, so if you set that song to get max output on your subs, you shouldn't ever clip on other cd's, unless the input to the amp is clipped. otherwise, i use korn's "follow the leader" to set everything else

I dont believe in EQ's so I dont do much tuning. I listen to a disc I made that has about every type of music on it, it's got Jenny Warnes, spies, spyro gyra, motley crue, Mariah Carey, Bass Mekanik, Van Halen, Metallica, just about any style of music you could want. I only use them cause I know those recordings so well!

When I'm angling and moving my home audio speakers I use my Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits album. The drums and voices on Tusk (you know, dont say that ya love me) are great for checking out your imaging.
