Do you guys have fairly large home stereos?
If so, do you listen to different music at home than you do in you car? I know I do, because of the different loudness of bass mainly. Also, I don't really feel to comfortable about playing that profain language in my house where my little sister can hear it.

I've also got a Yamaha system . . . hooked up to two of the MTX home speakers with two twelves each! Overall, a nice, loud system. I actually listen to a lot of the same stuff, but I don't have any really young siblings to worry about and my mom gets pissed if I crank it in the house when she's there anyway. Now my brother, on the other hand, has one helluva house system. All Technics components with Boston satellites, center channel, and surround speakers (Micro 90s with a cast aluminum ENCLOSURE!!!!) along with a 12" MTX 100 watt powered sub. After hearing all that, I decided that Boston is really the way to go for reasonably affordable, high end home equipment.

BassHead15 I feel your pain. I have to save up 450$ just to get my permit, and the said part is I am about to turn 18..dang. O and I also have to buy the ride...so it sucks.
As far as my system all of my car audio stuff is in my house, most in closet, but I have my 15"in my liveing room as my main sub and I should get today my pioneer 6 1/2 2 of them to be exact and two pioneer silk ferofluid tweets 1" and that's my home system. I mainly listen to rock/rap when mom not home and Bass cd's when she is .

Home system? Nad THX Dolby Pre-amp, 4 Nad 2200A amps, one pair Polk monitor 10's (old, but damn do they sound good!) one pair M&M Godfather 15's, Mission surrounds, Infinity center channel, Harman Kardon hifi VCR (actually made by JVC, very old, but works perfect) Nak mb7, Sony DVD, Toshiba 46". Each amp is bridged, one for each front speaker, one for the subs, and the 4th for the center channel. I dont listen to much music at home, generally just movies.

No you just have to wait 6 months to to get you linsince after you get your permit, and I have not had the money to get my permit because I had to save the money for 6 months of insurance full coverage, not to mention I just changed jobs and I just bought a huge system. I left out some thing s for my home system. I have a Pioneer 5.1 Dobbly Digital surround sound reciver and a 4 head Hi-Fi vcr .. The ratings on my Pioneer rec say 100 watts in to three chanells but when I hook up my 8 ohm Kicker 15' The 15 you can tell is getting 200 watts. The cone makes a full 3-d image of the kicker logo and you can not tell that it is moving which means a lot of power! I figure at least 200 watts yikes that mean I get a 600 watt reciver kool!

Hey, I've got the underage dilemma too.(I'm only 14) So home stereo's all I got. My main system is:
Optimus 500w Pro Logic Receiver
Denon 5-cd Changer(not mine)
LXI Hifi VCR
Toshiba 36" Stereo TV(not mine)
Sonab 3-way towers
KLH 120w Powered 10" sub

Backup:
Denon Pro logic amp(not mine)
Technics 12" Towers
Pioneer Cd deck
N64
25" RCA Stereo TV
Marantz Graphic EQ

The not mine stuff is either my renter's that he let me borrow or my mom's. I plan to replace my sonabs with some new KLH towers with 12s and a passive radiator.

I enjoy my Adcom stuff running an old set of Polk SDA-SRS' and RTA-11t's along with a Yamaha YST-SW500 to help the Polk's last forever. Nothing like being able to sit with everything on-axis and time-aligned perfectly for once!

I work at a pro audio shop. We have a MASSIVE DJ setup in the shop that's got nothing but JBL PRO cabinets. 18's and such like that, powered by a bunch of Crown amps. I think the last time I check was around 24,000 watts. So, I get to hear that allll dayyyyy long. I really just enjoy the silence of country life when i get home.

I have a $4000 Bose acustimass system but I rarely listen to music on it. In fact, all I really use it for is DVDs. CDs sound too boring on it, not enough bass, but with DVDs, you feel like the sound is coming out of the walls!
