I'm sure some of you have but have you all heard the new single from slipknot, psychosocial. Wow awesome tune and can't wait for the album in august. By the way love some of the new masks the band have this time around.

For whatever reason, I've not been able to get into Slipknot, Stone Sour, Mushroomhead, etc. I've heard a few of their tracks and they sound decent. Heavy + clean vocals (there's a rare mix now-a-days).
But, they're not Maiden, Priest, Motorhead, TestAmenT, Overkill, etc. Which is where my true metal loyalty lies. I'm willing to give them another shot though. Thanks for the heads-up!!

i just like the older suff more for some reason. im not saying the new stuff is bad, because its not, its good stuff. its just that the older stuff is more "in your face" and has more attitude.

As I Lay Dying is God Rock? Really? Huh. Honestly, had no clue - never really listened to them other than what was on HBB as I flipped through to see which Hardcore band was showcased this week.
Guess when I think of God Rock, I always think of Stryper, Tourniquet, and Vengence Rising. (Just dated myself moreso than before there, didn't I?!)

I guess there is a fine line between band members who happen to be Christian and a Christian band. I have no idea where As I lay Dying crossed it.
I hate people who say bush sucks without any explanation. Corey from slipknot says that at every show. It just seems to be what ever I can say that my fans will agree with and falls in line with pop culture. Sorry, but slipknot has become just that, pop rock.
Joey is a very good drummer, but I am sure the majority of musicians can outplay the rest at any instrument. They have become at best shock rock value with about as much shock as a 1.5v aa battery. They stand for nothing but their own album sales, they have made deals with best buy and itunes for those who buy at their locations to receive a "hidden song."
There is nothing wrong with capitalism, but don't say they are edgy anymore. They haven't been edgy since the first time wait and bleed was on mtv back in 1998.
FYI, I preordered the album, just to complete the collection, but there are a ton of bands that are much better. On a hardcore scale, I would give them a 6/10, add 2.5 for their mtv fame.
