Megadeth and Metallica in the same topic usually turns into a flame war on forums all over the internet but I didn't want to make two separete topics.

As of now Megadeth has recorded their new album and it will be released on May 15th.

Metallica are in the studio right now and will probably release the album sometime late this year or early next year.

So two metal giants are coming out with new albums soon and both are said to be a more back to the roots sound but with new elements thrown in.

For the latest news check the Metallica website and the Megadeth website

BTW, Megadeth has some songs up for download on the website so you can get a taste of what the album will sound like.

Aside from Risk, I've enjoyed most of what MegaDave has released. I've heard a few samples from the new disc and liked it *horns up*

As for MetallicA, they have been hit-or-miss for me since s/t was released. There are some good songs since Puppets & AJFA, but I think that their first four were my favorites.

That being said, a Thrash based MegadetH and a punk / metal based MetallicA once again would be absofrackinglutely fracktasticlly awesome! To hear Dave w/aggression & speed again or MetallicA with that raw energy and great punk/metal fusion that was brand-new w/Kill 'em All - Puppets.....yah, I'd dig that!

I'll give them both a try. Add to the mix the new Iced Earth and I could be quite the happy metalhead this year!!

Randy from Lamb of God is help writing the new Metallica album. It's suppose to be like their old stuff like ride the lightning and justice for all. As far as Megadeth is concerned I've heard 3 tracks and can't wait for the release.

BUMP!

Megadeth's new album, United Abominations, is out now. It's actually pretty good, more metal overall than the previous album. I have to listen to it a couple of times before I can really judge it but one thing's for shure, there's a lot of guitar solos on this album!

Still no news about the Metallica album.. I think they're still recording it, although there are rumours floating around saying that they have finished recording.

So have anyone else bought the album yet? Just curious to hear other people's opinion on this album.

EDIT: I must also say that there's two bonus tracks floating around the net that was not included on the normal version of UA. One is Black Swan which was downloadable if you ordered a certain version of the album (for fanclubbers or something) and the other, Out On The Tiles (Led Zeppelin cover), was included on the Japanese edition. Both rocks!

There's also talk about a third song that will be released as a b-side or something in the future.

That album wasnt terrible, they changed the way they composed, which sucked. Instead of all doing their own thing and combining it they allowed input from each other which screwed it. That, and Lars didnt have those metal chains on the snares and it sounded terrible. The songs werent too bad though imo.

Im getting the Megadeath album today and I cant wait for Metallica's.

Jason was amazing i was so upset when they dumped him and picked up truhijo (sp), even though he does a little better job at the heavy metal look.

The bonus track Black Swan is on youtube at the moment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4tW5vVcwO0

It's a bit softer than the songs on the album but I actually think it's one of the better new songs. Quite catchy!
