If you are rockin' with some 10" midbasses in your doors, then you probably have awesome lowend without a subwoofer all the time. I have a set of RE 6.5" components in the deadened doors of my Ranger. Not all tracks are created equally. Some stuff is lacking in this passband. On the other hand, there are some tracks where the midbasses are wangin' big-time!
I have thought of this thread concept for some time, but I just heard a song that really had some impressive bass, even with the subwoofer level at zero:
HexiBase - S-R Happy Ending Mix
This track is available at HexiBase's website and is on his SquareMaster album. I'll add more tracks later.
I really would never imagine this song wanging. I've always just heard it on TV. I wanted to listen to it cuz I liked the trumpet parts. I fired the song up on my system. The first three measures had an amount of kick drum that I would expect. Then on the fourth measure that kick drum walloped my gut!!!
I can turn my sub off all the way, then just inch it up just a tad. That's all I need with this song. My midbasses are wangin'
