As some of you may know, Megadeth is releasing a new album this year(latest new from Dave himself says that it will be released in September). The people that are playing with Dave on the new album is: Chris Poland(lead guitar), Vinnie Colaiuta(Drums) and Jimmy Sloas(Bass).
Dave has put up a song from the new album on www.megadeth.com called "Kick The Chair". For me, it sounds like a song that could've been on Rust In Peace but the overall sound is more polished and well produced like the later albums. IMO it's a good song. Download it and listen for yourselves!

Did someone say MegadetH?! I thought that I felt a powerful desturbance in the force and recognized it as the re-emergence of MegadavE teamed with Chris Poland.
Kick the Chair < - - If you dig Rest in Peace, you'll absolutely love this tune!!

I do not see how there is a totally different lineup from two albums ago. Wasn't Ellefson with since the band's conception? Menza rocked so hard!!! Friedman had some truely awesome solos. I wonder what he's up to. Maybe he's doing all that other stuff that hey couldn't do with Megadeth.

Negotiations broke down between MegadavE and DE. Menza had cancer, I think; hence his bowing out for Motopsycho. Didn't Marty & Dave start to have creative differences or something like that? Chris Poland is an excellent axe-man; more rough & rugged sounding than Marty (very refined sound, ala Skolnik, Vai, Satch, Chastain).
Any word on Gar? I haven't been keeping up on former MegamemberS.

Mustaine wanted to reform the R.I.P line-up(Mustaine, Menza, Friedman, Ellefson) but it seems that not everyone was ready to join the band again. He wanted either all the members or none of the members from that line-up. Instead he hired two studio musicians and got Poland to play on the album. Dave said that there might be a tour this upcoming summer because Vinnie and Jimmy have already agreed to go on tour, don't know about Poland though..
The new song really starts to sound good now after a listening a few times!

I like Chris Poland and all, but IMO you jsut can't beat the R.I.P. lineup. That's got to be one of my favorite albums of allllll time. I am a pretty big fan of Dave E., and Marty for that matter.

Tourniquet?! Now, there's a blast from the past. Right along side Vengence Rising.
Very not bad - I'm not really into God Rock, but Tourniquet is a very solid outfit!! Well worth the listen.
Some dude named Mike Portnoy may beg to differ about T's drummer being #1. Not to mention some dude named Dave Lombardo or Steve "Dr. Killdrums" Walcholz. Granted, T's drummer is very solid, but when Neil Pert says, "Mike's good [sic]", then I think Portnoy may get the nod.

Was the last Tourniquet album "Microscopic view of a macroscopic world?"
"Vanishing Lessons" and "Crawl to China" were both good albums, and so was a bunch of their older stuff. The song "Crawl to China" has some cool drumming at the beginning...
BTW DVD-A of Peace Sells... is going to kick ass...I jsut sat down the other night and found a good bass tab for the song Peace Sells...wone of the best bass lines ever I think. Ash

Between Peace Sells and Dawn Patrol, I think David helped reintroduce the bass to metal. "Yah, sure, I can lay down rythm with Gar and Nick. But, hey check this out....*CRUNCH*"
