I like music too much to pick an absolute favorite disk.

Acoustic Rock- Alice in Chains "Unplugged"
Acoustic Pop- James Taylor "Greatest Hits"
Southern Rock- Skynard "Greatest Hits"
Pop Rock- Phish "Hoist"
Hard Rock- Ozzy Osborne "Blizzard of Ozz"
Heavy Metal- Pantera "Vulgar Display of
Power"
Speed Metal- Slayer "Diabolus in Musica"
Live ablums- Phish "Hampton Comes Alive"
Blues- Buddy Guy "Damn Right I got the Blues"
Jazz- Bela Fleck "Return of the Cosmic Hippo"
Country- Garth Brooks "Roping the Wind"
Rap- Dr Dre "The Cronic"

2Pac's "R U Still Down" and "All Eyez on Me" are great. But I think that Dr. Dre's "Cronic 2001" maybe the best recorded album that I have heard in a long time.

Most definately Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, Ozzy, and more Pantera. And a little more Pantera for good measure.

Did I hear PANTERA!!!! I love Pantera, there is minimal bass guitar which I hate having in songs because of how dang loud it amplifies the bass, just distorts the songs in my opinion!

Pantera is one of the best metal bands out there!!!!!!!

I love the song...Walk, I believe it is...such a good progressive song!

i LOVE paNTERA AND i HATE caps lock. But Pantera is my favorite. Although it doesn't sound the best in my car. Rap with the low end BASS is what soiunds the best, feels the best too! My favorite thing to do is to drive alone with the stereo up as far as it'll go and rock out like I'm at my own private concert. No one to bitch about the noise and no one to tell me what to do. Yeah yeah!

I like Buffet and David Alan Coe too. I had a copy of DAC's "outlawed" CDs somewhere.

Pantera's new album "Reinventing The Steel" should be out in the next few days. It is supposed to be more like "Vulgar."

Thanks UB, I am a metalhead at heart and just trying to keep it real...real heavy, hard, and fast. I listen to "The House of Hair" every week.

Hum, I didn't have any classical music in my post. I really like Shostakovich "Symphony 11."

Hey all of you Metallica fans, I have a CD that has Metallica songs done on classical instruments. None of this "S&M" crap. Even has a Sepultura song too! The band is called Apocalyptica and the album is "Inquistion Sympony." You have to check this out.

Winslow, Apocalyptica have been around for a while. The CD you have is the 2nd one and btw it's all done on Chello's. The first CD is all Metallica songs, the 2nd one has I think 4 original songs, 1 Pantera, a few Sepultura (which I don't care for to begin with) and 2 Metallica (I think). _S&M_ is pretty good but don't blame it on Metallica, Michael Kamen is the one to blame. It's almost like he's trying to show up Metallica at their own game. Pantera's new album is alright but then again I haven't listened to it that much. Oh and Neon Boy what do you have against bass guitar?? Pantera has a lot of it but because Rex is unoriginal and basically just follows the guitar (like 95% of metal bassists) it gets lost. I play bass and think most bassists are unoriginal (at least in rock and metal). Jazz bassists are usually pretty sweet and have a lot of rumble heh.

Here's some discs I think have killer SQ :

Led Zeppelin Early Days and Later Days compilations.

Pearl Jam _Yield_

The Beatles The Yellow Submarine Songtrack

The Cure _Bloodflowers_

Anathema _Judgement_

Beyond Dawn _Electric Sulking Machine_

Opeth _Morningrise_

Slayer _South Of Heaven_ and _Seasons In The Abyss_

The Gathering _How To Measure A Planet_

Pink Floyd _The Dark Side Of The Moon_

The Bloodhound Gang _Horray For Boobies_

Metallica _Ride The Lightning_ and _Master Of Puppets_ DCC Remasters

Megadeth _Countdown To Extinction_

My Dying Bride _34.788%... Complete_

Rush _2112_ MoFi Remaster

Dr. Dre _Chronic 2001_

Danzig _6:66 Satan's Child_

Bloodbath _Breeding Death_

heh well there's a ton there already... pretty diverse selection but most is metal of course

Ryan

Thanks tchort for the info. A friend burned me a copy of the album, so I doin't have any liner notes. You don't like "Refuse/Resist?" That song rocks...

A lot of nice choices in disks. I have to agree, "The Cronic 2001" is a very well recorded and mixed album- plus good music too.
