I have endlessly searched the rule book for this with no luck...so here is the question!
in a hatchback vehicle, are we allowed to remove the factory carpeting from the floor in the cargo area(this is behind the rearmost seat)?
when I purchased the vehicle it had a leak in the hatch and all carpeting in the hatch area was wet and smelly. my first thing was to get rid of it in the garbage so it would not stink. it has been brought to my attention at the last 2x show that the carpet may need to be replaced.
anyone? please help
thanx in advance, Peter

Here is the actual section its mentioned. 3-8a Modifications to the passenger compartment are prohibited.
