since you can have a wall does it have to be behind the back part of the b pillar or the front part of the b pillar?

also can the headrests on the seats be removed?

1. The wall can be positioned in any fashion the competitor wishes, as long as it passes the string test. (see the rulebook for "string test" procedures).

2. No

According to the rules, they can't...

quote:
For clarification purposes, the dBDRA uses the term “modification” to describe changes to the vehicle that have been made in order to accommodate the sound system or to improve the competitor’s score.

quote:
Street Division Passenger Compartment Restrictions

3-8a Modifications to the passenger compartment are prohibited.

quote:
Street Max Division Passenger Compartment Restrictions

3-9a Modifications to the passenger compartment from the B-Pillar forward are prohibited.

As an example, the seats in my van are designed to swivel in a 360 degree radius. I was informed, by an official judge of dB Drag Racing, that my seats had to remain in the forward facing position during competition.

I know that removing headrest, and rotating seats are two seperate functions....but the same principle applies to both. Both are designed, at the factory, to be adjusted by the consumer (without the use of tools).

Either I was improperly informed, at the beginning of this season, or the rules have changed since then....

Sid, headrests have been removed in street for years. I have done it at Finals several years now. Almost every street car at Finals removes theirs if they are factory removable.

I know this, and you know this...but the judges sometimes forget (as what happened in the case of my consumer adjustable seats). The point I was attemptint to make, has been overlooked...

I apologize for the confusion.

I apologize to everyone who has read my replies in this thread. I should not have voiced my personal dissatisfaction against something that happened so long ago. I will keep such thoughts away from public view (the forum), and not post such comments in the future.

Thank you.
