The reason I say this is because the judges have already discussed this problem this year. They then ruled these footwells were "pockets". If you read my first post on this topic I wrote dash needs to go strait to the floor. Tor, a World Finals judge, then replied that my understanding was correct. That should have been enough to settle it. I was just trying to help answer the original question so his car would be legal.

Well I am one of those Judges, also a World Finals Judge. I must of misunderstood or missed when we have cleared out the footwells were illegal.

I believe many others, competitors, have made the same "mistake", so it's good to talk this through.

Jani, I knew you were a judge. I apologize if I came off wrong. Like I said before I was just trying to help answer the original question.

Like Vesa asks... we did make a clarification for the transition area. That is the "grey zone" between the dashboard and rod test area. Clarifying this transition area became an issue mainly with Jay's Extreme, there was all kind of things going on like hole on top of the "dash/transition area"...

I tried to go through our conversation in the Judges forum and there were for example plenty of example drawings by dB Steve which he went through with Wayne also. And any of those conversations I could find does not support the ruling that all openings/footwells UNDER the dash are illegal. But like I said, it is possible I may have missed or misunderstood something, but so far the other judges have not correct me about this issue, which is also taken up on judges forum.

Thanks, but now I only got more confused [Smile]
I have obviously got a wrong expression from what we went through in the Judges forum and what Steve said there. And I might of still missed something. Hopefully Steve and guys will confirm sometime soon.

So have all those american competitors for example fixed their cars, there are no footwells and stuff ??

Those pictures were just for questions. They don't have that kind of dashes, just straight down. Not even taking any advantage of the transition area. But as they are, they would always like to get louder and louder, so they are looking for what could be possible to at least try. And it is good for others too, so at the same time we get examples of what is allowed and what not.

So by rebuilding they meant to start rebuilding, not rebuilding from those dashes (pics) to "normal".

Hope that clears out something.
