quote:6-7f All auto sound equipment must be located below the plane that is used to determine compliance with the “wall test”.
Additional Guidelines:
· Source units, CD changers, video displays, and signal processors are exempt.
· If the vehicle is a 2-passenger (driver and passenger) hatchback, then all non-exempt auto sound equipment must be located behind the B-Pillars with the exception of amplifiers that are installed completely under the seat
Found this for street class but nothing similar for street max so I assume I can put them where I want them.

that is fine for street max.. it doesnt interfere with the normal use of the vehical.. and since you no longer have back seats I would say you are ok.. just dont attach it to the box.. and make sure it isnt on the floor in the front seat later Doug

Well thats great , 2 replies and they both say different answers , are either of you judges or are these just your opinions ? I cant find in the rules why this would be illegal. Can someone official please comment on this.

we have a car in street b that has had the amps under the front seats for two years and been to two world finals now. if it weren't leagal, then the judges made a HORRIBLE oversight. i believe the rules state as long as the installation of the amplifiers does not affect normal operation of the seat, then you are fine.

I know its legal to have amps under seats in any class , my concern is that as the photo clearly shows the amp sticking out in what would usually be passenger foot well I am wondering if this is a concern. The rule implies that if the amp under a seat in street that it must be not interfere with feet of rear pasengers , but how bout street max ?

If its in a non-passenger area the amp can be anywhere.
If the vehicle is a 2 seater vehicle like a Panda, EXP, RX7 or CRX, then ALL EQUIPMENT must be behind the B-pillar EXCEPT, amps can be under the front seat.
If your in Street Max you can have equipment in the rear passenger floor board.
if your in Street Max and you have a 2 seat vehicle ( as mentioned above ) only your amp can be up front under the seat.
In the above picture it looks like the amp is partially under the seat. No matter what vehicle you have in Street Max it should be fine.
Now go GET LOUD!
