sound deadener debate.................. is the inner skin one point and the outer skin of the door another?? or is it all classed as one point ie. two layers total in the door
america(db steve) said one thing, europe(tor) said another, which is it??
last thing i want is to put in hard work and get dq'd for too much dynamat!!

I think that Sids explaination is the best thus far and if you go by it you should be ok.

thanks for the reply eric, but i am building my van for the european finals, and would hate to do all the testing and associated building only to get there and have to rip out some sound deadening, which would then change my results
just wish someone in authority ie wayne would just say yay or nay, you can sound deaden both the inner skin and outer skin with two layers, or two layers total between the two!!
both dbsteve and tor are on the rules comitee i believe, and they have differing opinions on the matter!

db Steve's take on the rules is how it has been judged for all World Finals events. Our van is built as Steve says and how Sid has illustrated. Therefore, this is what I believe Wayne has un mind. Rules are written in American and can be translated differently as words have different meaning in other languages.

i would agree that ya can't sound deaden plastic, however it would be nice to know what is deemed illegal in db drag and what is not, please, i am not picking at anybodys judging here, just wanna know what the rule is worldwide so i am legal at the euros!!

hey sorry for the long delay, been really really busy
as far as sound deadener goes you can put two layers on the inside of the outer door skin and combined two layers on the inside on the inside layer, and or on the door panel itself
if you need further clarification let me know
