I have made a post in the rules forum and still can not get any definite answer.
I would like to tell you JUST what I did and why that why I could get some info as to wither I can still compete or not(I moved to extreme 2 as not to cheat till I get a ruling )
Ok I drive a 98 cirrus. I posted pics of this on the forum.
I bought a pioneer in dash 6.5” screen and tried to put it in the stock hole…..it would not fit!
So to make it fit and be usable and look good I decided to put this in the 2 air vents above my stock radio hole and put a DVD player in the stock hole.
Now how I moved the head unit was to lay a layer of fleece down then fiber glass it, I then added 3 layers of mat and bondo.
I took out the vent to make this work but I had no choice I need to use it and hate to lose money trying to sell it.
i understand there are rules and i would not try to break them at all....
i just need to know what to do next..
i will also repost be fore and after pics for this...
Before...
after...
please help me asap as this will decided if i can stay in db drag or not

Has some multi-point judge told you that you are not allowed to compete in Street because of your modification to the dashboard for the videoscreen ?
I can only say in my mind that should not be a problem and it is allowed. I also believe the majority of all the judges would feel the same.
But if someone has actually moved you to Extreme only because of that screen mod, then we need to talk about it a bit to find out what all is behind that decision.
At some point when we talked about the 2004 rules to come, there was one basic idea to allow more of the "normal" and "cool" Street setups also in dB Drag in Street class. At least including certain fiber panels and stuff in the trunk. Otherwise for example most of the nicely tuned cars would need to stay away from dB Drag and that was not in the best interest of the sport.
We are trying hard not to give any mixed signals between judges, so we have become more careful giving any public answers and decisions, that must be why you might of had hard time getting an answer. All I can say that you are good to go in Street class when it comes to that modification mounting the videoscreen and I hope most agrees. If not, let's hear it and see why.

I already stated that it "looked" OK. I (and IMO no judge should) do not make definitive rulings based on a picture.
If I examined the dash mayself, and it was clear that you did not make the dash any stronger than the factory dash, I am sure I would OK it at one of my shows.
