In the class of SSNW it says we can NOT cut the floor. Can I cut out the strut towers in the back of a 4 door Metro since they are not the floor?
Just curious as to where the line is drawn in regards to where the floor is.

I dont see a problem, as you said "It says nothing about cutting the sides of the vehicle" ,especially since you are not breaching the vehicles skin! I know a few people that want to know if we can cut the wheel wells in our caravans to get some width back there. I cannot see a problem with this either.

No you can't. This would be changing the airspace in the cabin.

It's changing the airspace in the cabin when you put a 20 cube box in there. It's changing the internal vehicle volume when you toss 1300LBS of batteries in the back too. If I was to cut the wheelwells out and use that space for batteries you don't really change the volume do you?
If there is no cutting the rules should say" NO CUTTING ANYWHERE" They simply state you can NOT cut "The FLOOR"

The intent of the No Wall rules is for you to compete with a mostly stock vehicle. If you are willing to push the current rules, I am sure that there are judges that would love for you to push the rules, as the letters "DQ" are actually in thier vocabulary this year.
