14" - 16" is common hieght for CRX's

easy test ...

place a measuring tape in the rear of the vehicle standing up verticle. Now go to the front of the vehicle and kneel down lining up both drivers and passenger windows seals with your eyes ( lowest point ). When you've done this, move your eyes and look at the measuring tape. You should see anywhere between 14"-16". This is how tall the 'surrounds' need to be on your box.

I hope this helps," -Steve

Thanks for your help Steve,

Suspension, wheel upgrades, levelness of ground all interfere with this test because the final plane of the car chasis is altered. A 2" variation of interpretation is too much, I don't want to be DQed if I make a 15.9" tall box+sub.

All 2nd Gen CRXes chasis are the same, so there wall height must be also. SO what test for wall height is proper, so that it won't move on un-level surface or if I get wheel and/or suspension upgrades? Thanks

You just have to do your best to make sure it is not above the lowest point of the opening of your drivers and passenger windows.
