Wayne, I know that this is something not easy to spot but at Audio Thunder a few things came out that most likely shouldn't have! There was several people using subs that were "beefed" obviously not standard issue! I know that this wasn't a dB Drag but if it is there I am sure it is here too! What I want to know is, is this accepted as ok or is that considered cheating? I have never even considered making "special" subs for competitors nor will I one way or the other, I just don't think it is right! I wanted to get your input! Maybe this is yet another thing to consider when someone breaks a record! If at least two of the major players are doing this from what WE saw at Audio Thunder, who is to say it isn't a bigger thing!
The only way this even came up is after one guy toasted all his subs, he threw the cones and coils out to the crowd! It was VERY obviuos that they weren't normal! Then another guy followed suit and hmmm what do ya know the same thing only a different name brand! (PLEASE DON'T ASK FOR NAMES!!!) I am only trying to keep you informed! One of the subs was a 12" and you couldn't fold the cone if ya stepped on it! Not bad for a woofer that supposedly retails for 119! Wish I could make a woofer that is this indestructable for that price! It also has a 3" coil "we measured" when it is only rated to have a 2.5" huh?????
Thanks for your time!!

I believe the rules are very specific in this regards. If the product is not commercially available, then the competitor must compete in the Exhibition class.
