Wayne, I thought when we voted on the classes this year back in December or so, that these classes would stay the same THROUGH the 2001 season. Can you please clarify why you want to take out all the power classes? (street and extreme 9+) What about the competitors who bought the equipment they had thinking that these rules would be good THROUGH 2001? If I was misinformed, please let me know.

You were misinformed. Rules are updated annually. Our major show promoters (Kenwood, Rockford, Circuit City, etc.) say the power classes have to go. I agree. We have been phasing out power for 3 years now. It is difficult to enforce under the best conditions, and almost impossible to enforce when amp manufacturers "pad" their rated power specs with "soft" numbers.
With that being said, my goal is to have absolutely minimal changes in the rules for 2001 from 2000.
