We are currently in the process of changing a vehicle back to factory to get out of the "modified" class. The old door panels are long gone, and I can't find any at a Junk Yard. The dealer wants something ridiculous like $190 each for them. The door panel is completely flat, would it be a problem if we made new ones out of something thin, like 1/8" hardboard? There is no way that would brace the door in any way, would we still be considered modified?

By your definition, the door panels would not be acting as a structural modification and therefore you could compete in the regular street and super street divisions.
