What I'm wondering about is how long do you have between rounds in bassrace.
I know in dbdrag you have a 5minute setup time before your run.

I normally bassrace in 129 class. I could run in 139 class...but only if my subs had a couple minutes to cool off between rounds. Also, it'd be needed between tie-breaker rounds. My subs just won't last through multiple ties and multiple rounds. Probably wouldn't last through 2 consecutive without a 5minute cool-off.

So, am I aloud to take 3-5 minutes between ties, or between semi's and finals at a competition? Nowhere in the rules does it say anything about this either way. I'd like to step-up a class, so I can get my GF running in the 29's class, but without having to buy new gear...yet

Its not in the rulebook, but i always offer competitors 5 minuttes break ( they cant leave the lane though, and no chargers in the lane ) between rounds in case of a tie.

I always run semi in all classes first and then finals, so nobody will run semi and finals back-to-back.

thanks for the input, but that's just one input. What about between ties in the same level(1/4,semi,finals)

if I'm not mistaken, the "World Finals" edition of the termlab software started after 30 seconds last year.
A competitor was under the impression he had 5 min (as did most judges) and got 30 seconds and blew up all kinds of equipment trying to catch up.

Exactly.....
You might be given 5 min, in the dicretion of the head judge in qualifying or between rounds, but in case of a tie you will have to be ready at 30 sec....

Good luck
