This wasn't completely clear to me from the rules. I don't want to spend the time to build a box and not be able to compete.

In the Stock class:

It states that "If the vehicle is a pick-up truck and the subwoofer enclosure is mounted behind the seat, compliance with the “string test” is not required."

This brought me a few questions.

#1 What part of the seat does it have to be behind, the bottom, the top, or can it follow the slope of the seat. Also, can the seat be slightly tilted forward (ie top further forward than the bottom) if the seat is still useable?

#2 Does the port have to be behind the seatback? I am looking at a really long port length, and I am having depth problems, I wondered if the port could extend between the seats (Buckets) provided that the enclosure was still behind the seats.

#3 If the enclosure is only behind one seat, can the other seat be all the way back and still be legal. Meaning -- If I put the enclosure behind the passenger seat, can the driver's seat go all the way back and still be within the rules??

#4 Lastly, it was specifically stated that there would be no walls. Where is the point that an enclosure becomes a wall. I feel that needs to be explicitly defined. Bottom of back window, 6 inches, full rear vision?

Thanks, I don't want to cheat, I just want to know exactly what the rules are so that I don't break them.

Great questions.

1. The enclosure must be behind the seat. The enclosure may not extend above the top of the seat back. You must be able to place the seat in at least one of it's normal driving positions with the enclosure in the vehicle. During the competition, you may slide the seat forward and/or lean the seat forward.

2. The vent must be behind the seat. The vent must not extend above the top of the seat back.

3. The seats can be adjusted to any position as long as the seats are OEM and have not been modified.

4. The top of the enclosure may not extend above the top of the seat back.
