Is it legal to expanding foam around the box with a forward facing box, so long as the seat still closes and latches properly?

Thanks

yes around the front of the box like that will be fine as long as it is just along the face of the enclosure.

since you can fiberglass the entire trunk as an enclosure it should be ok.

yes, and this would be a nice box

you can also fiberglass the bottom of the trunk and attach it to the wooden box, so it will be part of the box and a structural reinforcement

ops!
