Doug and I believe it was Sam? They were talking and the 2 were in agreement that there must be carpet and if equipments inside the lid can be off!!

cool for those who can't find it a certified judge from cali answered the question as follows

"if your tire cover can be put in place properly, thenit is required. if your amps are sticking out then you need to have all metal covered.

What are the "flaps" everyone is talking about? Pics? What is the oem purpose of these flaps, and why do some cars come with them, and others don't?

"flaps" are part of the trunk area. It allows for cargo that is larger than the sides to be fitted
into the hatch. Think of them as lids. They are used in conjunction with the hatch cover on the crx.

On Honda's everything is an option or trim based.
HF's did not originally come with them.
DX was an optional...Si standard equip.

Now many people may have changed the interior out
based on the age of the car ( for obvious reasons)

My old HF did not have those from the factory, my 1990 DX did.

Mine was louder with them IN and one flipped UP.

i have a hf and a si. but my hf didnt have em didnt test much with it my si had em and i had the same result but mine was louder with em both in and down

and i know this is afer finals with these 2 posts i just read
