Do we have to have the rear flaps in a crx for this year's finals???

I'd like to get a YES/NO answer.

If we have to have them, what will happen to those who do not have them?

90% of street cars do not have them. Last year at Indy the only cars that had them were crx's from canada.

My old HF did not have those from the factory, my 1990 DX did.

Mine was louder with them IN and one flipped UP.

Hf's don't have the flaps, dx's and si's should have flaps unless hf's panels have been put in it, or they where taken out.

last year i ran all multi point event shows with the ruling of as along as you could not see metal you were ok, so the spare tired was carpeted and that was fine all the way till finals. i wasnt the only one who ran like this all year, there was like 5 or 6 other crx's like this.

I have been to Finals for the last 3 years, with my CRX including this one, and I have had the rear flaps installed.

As far as the rear spare tire cover, my CRX has competed at the last 2 World Finals without them, but I have also carpeted the floor, "so that no metal is visible", and I also had a dual 30 band PG Equalizer mounted where the spare tire was.

But since I am competing at Indy this year for Finals, I have been testing my car with the spare tire cover, hell even the spare tire and jack have been in my car in the stock position all season.

We have always run with the complete stock floor and flaps to avoid any problems as different judges make different calls and there are always surprises in calls at Finals. It would be nice to see a judges call for sure though.

So like I said earlier, I will just have to play like they do in Indy(Sam's shows), which in no way am I meaning any disrespect to Sam. But if I am gonna try and play at his "House" I have to play by the his rules. I first personally met Sam at 2001 Finals, and he seemed to be one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I too have a carpeted floor, but if he says I must have the floor and rear flaps in their respected stock locations, I will have them in my car. The last thing that anyone would want is to have to change anything in their cars at the big show, which they could possibly lose SPL.......

Last year at finals in INDY they required everyone to have the spare tire cover with carpet in the CRX. For us just having carpet wasn't enough. We had to make a panel out of cardboard with the carpet. So I say be prepared to have to have yours installed on the car. Factory carpet or panel isn't required. And funny thing is they didn't enforce this ruling at all locations last year. Go figure.

I had my judge look at it, He called another judge and asked his take on if it's legit. Apparently if u have equipment in their it's ok but the carpet covers all bare metal.....
If it's empty with just wires and other stuff, no go supposed to be a cover.....

In my car I had carpeted the floor with black carpet, which is held down with spray adhesive, and with a dual 30 band Equalizer in the space where the spare tire would be normally placed by the factory, with nothing protruding above the plane where the hard plastic panel would sit, and I was told that If nothing protrudes from that plane then the caver must be in place.

But just in case I have to have it in there, I will bring it, the last thing I want to do is have to search for carboard and some form of carpet for my car, at Finals

thats the exact way that i had mine Michael, black carpet and everything. But... i did have amps protruding the plane just enough to make it a pain to try to get a floor in there. i had to take the ports off my box unscrew the box and move everything.
