is it possible for 1 person to run 2 vehicles in bass race? like one being under "Travis Atherton" in the 139.9 class, and "Team Infinate Audio" in the 149.9 class... but one person running both, I know the rules say a "Team" vehicle can be run by anybody but could I do this...

Competitors may enter multiple vehicles at a dB Drag Racing event provided that no two vehicles are entered into the same class and provided that each vehicle is entered under a unique compeitor name.

I think Sam stated clearly that it is against the spirit and Idea of the competition. There should be no reason to want to do this that is fair to the competition.

I understand what you're saying Ed but the guy wants to compete to seperate vehicles in two completely seperate categories.
He has clearly stated this. I do not see any problem or issue with a person doing this.
How is this is any way ill spirited. The guy is willing to bring multiple vehicles and compete them in a sport that already is not the most popular to begin with. He is willing to support it by bringing vehicles to compete.
Now if the guy wanted to run both vehicles in the same clas and category then that would be different. But clearly this is not the case.

Hey if its legal its legal. I guess there is nothing to hurt if the vehicles are in 2 different categories. Sam stated that it could ease pressure off of the competitor because if he loses with one car, he still has a chance to win with the other.
I guess the only bad thing I see is that he discourages others. I can see it now, imagine at a local show when he competes and wins against some new comers and local guys. I can see them complaining that this guy came in with 2 cars when they can only afford one. He won in one class but atleast the new guys thought they had a chance in another class, until he comes at them with a different car and beats them. Of course thats all assuming he can even win.

the what ifs are being mentioned right now and I do understand that.
but that is not what the person intends to do. he has clearly stated that he wants to have each vehicle compete in TWO seperate categories. He has made this clear and does not intend to do so otherwise.
With that being said he is for all purposes permited to do that "LEGALLY" there is nothing in the rules stating otherwise. as for people getting all ****ty because he has two vehicles and they only have one, if they are going to bitch and complain about it then too bad for them.. that would be a pretty ****ty thing for them to rag on the guy about..come on, the guy just wants to compete.
And to touch base on the post about him busting out then if that happens then he is out of the competition because the rules clearly state you cannot have multiple vehicles in the same category. So the issue of him busting and being forced to compete in another category is not applicable.
once again only my 2 cents

I see you're point on it, but IMO it shouldn't be legal just for this reason...
The other people that are competing spent their own money, time, and energy to build a system.
If thats the case then I'll just show up at shows and rent my vehicle out to be able to run each class.
Its not really a matter of reading between the lines of legality it should be a matter of respect to the other competitors

if you're going to use that logic then you forgot one key factor in all this. the person also spent their own money, time and energy to build the system as well. Hell they spent double the amount. But thats not the point.
As for respect that you're refering to I dont see there being a lack of it if someone builds and competes 2 seperate vehicles in competition. As for the people saying that it's not fair cause it would deter people away and what not.. thats BS in my opinion.. if someone is not going to compete because of that then they do not belong in the sport. All this talk about scaring newbies and competitors and other junk is just that..junk..
I say good luck to anyone that is willing to go the extra mile and build multiple vehicles and compete them. Instead of hearing about people bowing out and having to stop competing for whatever reasons....
once again just my humble 2 cents worth

the only reason I posted this was cuz one night when I couldn't sleep I drew up plans for a van/truck with cap/big SUV for 30 or 32 - 12" subs and 40K watts... I got hooked on bass race when I won my first comp... I didn't think it would be such an heated disscusion

Q. Can one (1) person build 2 (two) vehicles bring them to a bass race event and have 2 (two) different competitors operate the systems
A. Yes
quote:Then there is no difference if i bring 3 cars or 4 cars or 5 cars. Whats wrong if I bring 8 cars and run under 8 different names?
Your score determines your class, what if all the cars fall under the same class?
It is totaly against the spirit of the competition for many reasons
one qualifying attempt puts pressure on you to do well. Ask anybody that qualified with a 130.0 Having multiple vehicles takes away that pressure(gives you a second chance)
competing in brackets where you have more than one vehicle WOULD NOT assure a competitive match. How does anybody know if there is a competition , instead of a lay down. A real dissapointment to the spectators coming to watch
Building two cars and having two different people opporate them under two different names is a DIFFERENT STORY
Travis bring two vehicles. Get another teammate to operate the second vehicle.

This would be OK for dB Drag Racing, but not Bass Race.
You say you want to use one car for 130 class, and one for 140 class. What would happen if you qualified the 130 vehicle in the 140 class by overshot. Then suppose you had the only two cars in the 140 class. You would then have to compete against yourself. How is that possible.
Occasionally I get competitors that tell me "I am in the 120 class" when registering. I usually remind them that your score determines your class. I have seen countless competitors overshot in qualifying - or have system trouble and qualify in a lower class. Leaving them in a class that they did not intend to be in.
That's part of the magic of Bass Race, you make a mistake during qualifying and you could end up in an unfamiliar class.
It seems some event promoters are allowing retries during Bass Race qualifying. This SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.

I agree with Sam and David, while its nice collecting more entry fee's, in the long run it will only come back and haunt you when you have a problem.
If you have 2 cars bring 2 operators.

well, with the rules you can run 2 cars in Bass Race. if you end up in the same class DQ or re-qualify.
