hey i was wondering what exactly is the ruling on race/sports/aftermarket seats in street classes? i seen people at finals with crx's that have sports seats. i guess that is legal? what if i put same type of a seat into a mid size suv? is this still legal? given they fit into the mounts without any modifications. what if i have one sport seat and one regular factory seat, is this legal? by sports seats i mean something like this -------------------- 2006 Street A - 152.7 Certified 2007 Street C - 154.8 Certified 2007 Street A - 154.4 Certified TEAM FOB FEAR OF BASS

For clarification purposes, the dBDRA uses the term "modification" to describe changes to the vehicle that have been made in order to accommodate the sound system or to improve the competitor's score. Some examples of passenger compartment modifications include: * Replacing the OEM glass * Replacing the OEM dashboard * Replacing the OEM seats Look to the matrix and vehicle mods are not allowed. This is where it get complicated. What is your intent? SPL or Comfort.... -------------------- 07 World Finals Judge - San MateoTeam Treo www.myspace.com/boominaudio

this is where it gets even more complicated.... what if my intent is neither SPL no really comfort? what if it's just for looks/show? At finals, will a judge be asking the question you just asked to determine the legitimacy of the seats? -------------------- 2006 Street A - 152.7 Certified 2007 Street C - 154.8 Certified 2007 Street A - 154.4 Certified TEAM FOB FEAR OF BASS

Why would you have a sport seat and a stock seat if it is for show? I have judged interiors at car shows and would deduct points for that mod -------------------- Just some thoughts from a nobody.

so according to the rules you cant have one factory and one racing seat, ok. how about 2 racing seats that are neither for spl nor for comfort but rather for show? -------------------- 2006 Street A - 152.7 Certified 2007 Street C - 154.8 Certified 2007 Street A - 154.4 Certified TEAM FOB FEAR OF BASS

according to the rules racing seats are allowed but plastic video game seats arent. I think 1 racing one oem should be legal because I have seen tonnes of cars for sale in canada with that mod. racing seats can be expensive and sometimes people cant afford two after wasting their money on all the db drag equipment to be competitive in street. --------------------

Hey, didn't Ana have racing seats in her crx? Were those for show or spl? Who knows, who cares. It should just be a clarified rule IMO. -------------------- Team Custom Team Quake Team Powermaster

yes this is what im saying Andy. You were a judge at the san mateo location where the loudest Street A had racing seats. What's up with that? i guess my racing seats will have to be for "comfort" then. -------------------- 2006 Street A - 152.7 Certified 2007 Street C - 154.8 Certified 2007 Street A - 154.4 Certified TEAM FOB FEAR OF BASS

there should be no problem with this yuli General Restrictions Regarding Seats: * Go-Cart seats, arcade game seats, dune buggy seats, etc. are not considered equivalent OEM seat replacements because they do not closely resemble the OEM seat in structural rigidity, cosmetics, or size. * Seats must bolted in the OEM locations of the vehicle with the exception of the Extreme Division. * A minimum separation of 12 inches (30.48 cm) must be maintained between the seat and the sensor location at all times. * If a seat originally came with a headrest then the headrest must remain attached to the seat during competition. -------------------- Psycho out! www.psychoacoustics.name Noise proves nothing. So proper racing seats are a go. -------------------- 2006 Street A - 152.7 Certified 2007 Street C - 154.8 Certified 2007 Street A - 154.4 Certified TEAM FOB FEAR OF BASS

I'd say 2 racing seat's are a go, 1 racing seat would be iffy, and most car's you see with 1 only have the 1 seat in it, and they throw the stock passanger seat in so someone can ride with them. Not sure if it helps spl or not, but most of the "loud" Street people are using them. --------------------Team Urban ArtFX Team Ohio Generator Team Maxxsonics http://www.sounddomain.com/id/slow91dx 2005 World Finalist 9th place Street B 152.0db 2007 Indy Regional Finals 3rd Place Street B 153.4 db

what mods are you talking about? cuz now it seems that you contradicted yourself in the same post. I'm asking about the seats. Are seats considered a "mod"? Yuli, they have been legal in CRXs forever. Therefore, they HAVE to be legal in every other vehicle. No special rules can be made for a crx. If you want to make your jeep a tuner car, then by all means thats your right as a vehicle owner --------------------
