OK one of my teammates is not getting a membership this year. I already have mine. What I am wondering is how can he legally run my vehicle in Bass Race? He is putting money and time into the Car as am I. Do I need to change my competitor name or just declare him as a teammate and give him a written permission slip? I will be accompanying him and the car to all the shows, he is just a better bass racer than I am and I will be running it in DB Drag.

Permission slip? lol

He's a teammate bro, I wouldn't see a problem at all with it at any of the shows I've been to!

actually the OP's question needs to be clarified because in fact if you take a look at

Section 2-4 you will see

http://dbdragracing.com/dbdrag/rules/2008/section2.asp

Now if a vehicle is registered under

"TEAM" whatever, is it alright for others to run it since they would be considered part of the team and not the specified owner of the vehicle?

I assume thats the way to solve the possible problem that might be encountered.

But to simply say, dont worry about it is definately wrong...

well...ok good point!

I didn't really think about it before I left.

But its for bass race, and he's THERE I don't think its a problem for someone else to run the vehicle.

I remember the problem that happend a few years ago with street competitors not being at the show and there vehicle being there and getting ran in there name.

BUT if he's there I don't think there is gonna be a problem

Bass Race is linked to the person, not the car.

I'd assume that to be on the safe side and make sure that if a specific person isn't able to make it to the show but can have someone else bring their vehicle then they should name themselves

TEAM "whatever"

wouldn't that be the best solution so that no problems occure just in case?

yup. as ed said.. bass race is the PERSON not the vehicle.

therefore whoever is actually operating the radio, is the person that gets the points.

i cant run bass race and get points for tony miller. even if he is standing right next to me.

however..

i CAN run and get poitns for TEAM tony miller.

take James carnes for instance...

they are TEAM James Carnes..

ANYONE can run that headuunit under a TEAM name.

doesnt matter if its junior, senior, john hone, justin, or asia.. as long as its entered under the team name.

best thing to do rich, is just have wayne add TEAM to the front of your membership name.. or change to a team name..

this is why asia and i are competing as Team Naptime instead of Jay Thomson... ANYONE can run the headunit, wether its bass race or dbdrag.

Normally, NORMALLY,in dB Drag, with a team car, there has to be one
fixed person who HAS to be with the car.
Its difficult, I know.
And it has been done otherwise in the past.
How "they" enforce it, is another question.

Example, Team Gates.
ALMA was THE PERSON linked to the vehicle.
You dont have to push ONE button or touch the car
at a competition, but you have to be PRESENT.

Otherwise it would be too easy, name it a team car,
and send out whoever you want, whover has time
and so on...
