You are the only one on here all the time complaining about the fall of the car audio industry give it a rest if you can't afford to compete quit! You just keep trying to spread your negativity disease around and I am personally tired of seeing it. Go to a couple of, hell one 1x event and show us what you claim to be able to do. Otherwise please quit bitching about the points and no shows in your area.I'm out!!
again keep your head in the sand1 i see you came out to one cali event in which i was there, why come out to a 1x there anyone around can do over a 60 in SM? don't waste my time! and if you think it's ez to find a job quit yours and do more shows.nuff said i am making a record attempt but you can only do a drag record at a 3x event, i will just do Monster class at finals no points required
Whatever you say.
Oh 1 more thing IF you were able to do a world record that alone wont get you to finals! Still gotta get points take your head out of the sand

would not care about finals at that point, the winner of finals if they did not beat a record number did not beat the best of the best.

Somebody in cali will hit the 160+ mark this year but I don't think they live in so-cal.

Yes, at Finals in Indy someone did over a 160 in SM 1-2.
Now SM class is combined so all the 4 top scores would be in the same class this year.

sm 1-2?
you can easily find that out..no one needs to spoon feed you the info.. you seem to be a smart guy..or so you like to have people know.. So I highly doubt you haven't kept up to par with the goings on of SM in North America.. or have you not bothered because you seem to think you are of a SUPERIOR stature then all of the other measely peasants...

wow, more complete smack from quad as usual.
the 160 in sm doesnt mean anything anymore since the classes have been combined.
but to the topic at hand...
if yo uwant to compete, then you compete. period.
if that means driving to shows, then thats what you do.
there were PLENTY of people in california last year that managed to get points and INVITES to finals.
you whine about having to rent a truck and trailer, blah blah blah... nobody told you to have to build a car that yo ucant drive.
PLENTY of street max competitors drive thier vehicles.
i was 3rd in points in 06 with 315 points. i managed to drive to 6 different states to get them. and amazingly enough, i did it while driving my sm vehicle to every show.
what's even stranger is that i am almsot certain that my enclosure alone, weighs more than lil scrappy does.
my enclosure was 57 2x4's , 36 2x3's , 13 sheets of 3/4 mdf , and .... wait for it, wait for it, a thousand pounds of concrete. yet, i managed to drive it to 24 shows in 6 states, all WITHOUT complaining about the price of gas
not to mention... THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD......
only 50% of your points have to be with your vehicle.
the other 50% can be with any vehicle.
mike fallon got half his points with his ford escape.. and MOST of those shows, he was throwing in a system AT the show !!
so
quit crying that you cant afford a trailer.. you chose to build that vehicle..
quit crying that you cant take it to enough shows.. yo udont even have to, since you are able to use points chasers.
quit crying that there arent shows in your driveway. drive to them like everyone else does.
quit crying that there arent enough shows in your area.. yo ukeep saying this is your business.... then host some shows !!!!
when is the last time you hosted an event?

Again you don't know what your talking about and Again, you are all missing the point! you see the name Quad and fogget the subject! i only stated how current and future economics will and has effected current events and future ones. my car is a 1970 its 38 years old it drives to locals shows but 300+ miles oneway is not local so a trailer is needed have you ever been broke down on the road? i have twice no more no i rent something i know can make the trip, no tranee going out 3grand to fix. have a water pump go out in bfe two days to get a new one etc do any of you guys own a shop business or even have a job? hey boss i need four days off to get 8points for db drag? yeah take them and don't come back i don't know what your talking about all these people hitting shows from around here? i know many heavy hitters out here and they have not done much of any shows, not becase they don't want to but because business is tuff, funds are hard to come by right now, i love all this bs talk when none of you guys live in cali and know anything of what its like out here even the state is broke, crying not i could care less! i will just do Usaci and Dspa and support my local db drag events, then months from now when they have to shave points to get more people to finals because gas is $6.00+ a gallon and unemployment is at a record high i will just sit back and say i told you so Again! just like many other subjects i was right on like Oh,cost of Street, opening a car audio shop in this day and age, yeah those guys did not make it,oh that box has a problem what happen small number rebuild don't tell quad and mfg hurting. and p.s. most of the quad haters do only one org, well i do all i can and still can compete not just sit in one hole, and it reminds me so much of Bush! what $4.00 gas? and the war and all good wth jobs and homes the truth will set you free.

4 days to get some points? Wow dude.. Granted, my longest trip was 400 miles, but that was done with me working a 6 day week.. I left late saturday night, got to the show, did the show, and left around 3pm from the show, and made it back to work sunday night.. sure, I might be up for 24-32 hour straight, but thats what it takes some times...
And yes, I'm sure we all have jobs, or else we wouldn't compete
And if this "economic crisis" is so effecting you, maybe you should get a different job.
I am 23, my girlfriend is 22.. we own a house with a rough value of 175K, We have 2 fairly new cars, and this "crisis" hasn't effected us. I even quit my job last Sunday, and went to a different job, starting next sunday.. which was relatively easy to come by.
If this "crisis" is hitting you so hard, sell your db vehicle, stop competing, and shut down shop and find a new job. And stop bitching about 'I can't afford, I can't afford...
