can i use duct tape to attach things to the panels in the back (cargo area) of my suv? it would be below the window line.

say i take a peice of a 2x4 and just tape it to the side of my cargo area, its below the window line. is this legal?

can someone please show me the rule which says this cant be done. i know trunk cars have built in boxes that cant really be removed very easily, which is legal. i figured a taped peice of wood in a trunk of an suv should not violate any rules?
