Ok, so looking at the cap limits and new equipment I can purchase does anyone know how hard it is now to find a 1 farad cap? 1.2f 1.5f 1.6f and up really hard to find just a 1.0f or even 2.0f.

What are others thoughts on this rule can we adjust it to match the market?

might as well do away with them since they are seldom used.

Have a token limit, say 5f per battery. If there was no limit we would see people running masses of farads for a small gain.

They are no real gain yet newcomers have them and are forever being bumped into SS because of them now being much more commonly bigger than 1.0f

I agree. most "show cars" have them because they look "cool". and today i see a ton of 5 f plus in a lot of nopi type cars. I think the limit should be removed on STREET STOCK. at the least.

Probably shouldn't completely remove the limit but bump it up a bit for Street Stock. You make a good point with the "tuner" cars having them. Maybe 5 or even 25 farad? That's a common size of the "hybrid caps" like the stinger etc.

A lot of these car will be bumped out because of the farad limit. So I agree with you maybe it should be
20 farad for street stock a
40 farad for street stock b

We need wayne to see this and think about changeing it?
Any way to get him to see this thread???

you would be suprised how many use caps. our st c car it was .3db gain. our sm 1-2 car their was no gain but it helped keep the head unit on long enough to get a full burp. so their not totaly useless.

i agree with samsel on this one...even tho he is my boy, in usaci we have seen some people that had 2000 farad of caps ( yes that is 2000f of caps..cause there is a company that makes 500f caps) and they used them like batteries cause with them in line with a battery, there is very little drop

I was using a 1 farad cap in Street A last season and saw a .3 db gain when I pulled it out.
