i really doubt any of the guys that have retired will return to the non bandpass class. these guys were at the top spl wise, and i don't see them wanting to run the intermediate class. why not a 4 amp extreme class and a 8 amp extreme class. each class as many subs as you want.

Either way...I am new in extreme this year and am not even done building my new vehicle but I plan on winning the National Championship at 08' finals in the lower of the 2 extreme classes.

I will be likely using one sub and hopefully be louder than any other 1 sub vehicle in either of the 2 new extreme classes. Just need to work hard and do it right.

I will be spending the same amount of money as I was going to before the class change. Still 1 sub and 2 amps. Sorry to hear it affects you the way it does Toby. You coming out to the show in Centerville on 2/2?

If freestyle allows unlimited batteries, unlimited caps, and 18volts, and can run during test, Street A/B/C/Street Max will actually be a move down for them. I may be reading that wrong though. But if I was a newbie (basically I still am), and I went to freestyle and won, I would just give up right there and never compete again due to having to jump so many classes to "move up", or rip my system completely out and downgrade it to fit in those other classes. Can you actually see a person that has never competed trying to stand ground in Super Street classes after winning one freestyle event? I can't
you honestly think a newbie would have the above and not have the intention of running in any of the bigger class's?? what a daft lad you are?
its for newbies, there will be lots of cars in the class that don't nescessarily fit other classes! so if your very loud you will have to move up, if not and you are playing "be louder than my mates", you can still run and not fall foul of rules like window height, which your average install in 75% of european cars break due to having boxes higher than 8" (stupid euro car designers!) or dual batterys - which a lot of guys have with two tens and a biggish amp, but can't play in street a but wanna compete
tell you what you setup for playing in the newbies class with unlimited batteries, unlimited caps, and 18volts, and can run during test and then we can all laugh at you after your first show!

You mean if a new commer with a 1500 watt amp and two subs goes to an event, competes in Freestyle and wins he then retires in the same day?
Or, does the "test" mean he now has to go buy a $1000 battery, $2000-$3000 amp, $800 sub, and 10 strands of cable so he can maybe get with in 10-15db of everyone else in Street A? that test?
Kinda my thoughts exactly John. While Freestyle is a good start in the right direction its needs a little refinement.

We never had any problems with pro-cars in that class, cause it wasnt a official finals class, and if you won it you would be moved up in another class.
I dont see much problems with the new classes even though i compete in Street Max 1-2, which is 1-4 now..

I agree Navi. I was really going to do some Db drag this year, but, I'm staying in bass race.. At least until is screws up as bad. Then I'll just move to another organization, or quit completely.
And Adam, right now I don't need anything extra... yet. Laugh all you want, but I'll be doing all right in Bass race 140-149.9 this season.
You can put sub and port on the driver side, still use the center console and still do a 174+ i bet
Or what happens if someone uses a sealed box just sitting in the back of the vehicle? or fires woofers to the driver side and the front of the box just so happens to create a pocket on the passenger side?
OMG if I was in extreme I'd be all over these grey areas, just to exploit them.
This is the worst thing db drag can do, is try to determine what defines a bandpass and a normal ported wall
