Well...this ISN'T my second year...this would be my 3rd year, HERE. Not like we don't have a BUNCH of just for fun show's here year after year.
Ok....so WHY would I shell out big bucks for just a battery. In 10 YEARS I haev NEVER tryed to run ANY of my amp's(even just a 1500D) off a singel battery....I ALSO have NEVER had a amp break from low voltage....come to think of it I have NEVER killed a amp. Maybe because I see the cost and respect its value.
As for lot's of batterys IF I my amps would handel a 16 volt bank.....well I'd just buy like 20 8 volt batterys, and bet I'd spend LESS than the cost of 1 NSB what ever.
Have you seen the price of copper lately.....most of these guys could scrape there wire for more than the car cost.....$3.89/lb for #1 copper. So WHY would I want to buy hundreds of dollars in wire when I could use that miney for say....OH like a bigger amp of even a NEW sub.
Well I have seen power, and it dosn't seem to have as much effect as the encloser....our team have a van with 3 1500D's in the 150's DAILY....with some chepo 15's. Well as of yet I'm NOT sold on needing TONS of power. I have gone against other competors with 4X's the power and still won.....maybe I just use my time where I lack money to get loud.
NO one here is going to make me belive that Street Max is easery OR cheaper then NO WALL. I have even been told by a few Senior Db Drag vetts that No Wall is a good place for a beginer to start as you DON'T need high dollar batterys or LOTS of wire ...and I DO think they were right.
I don't know about the rest of you guys BUT I DO plan on driveing 2 and from show's. So by being limeted on what can be done above the window line as well as to the floor I know that most other vans in my class COULD probley still be driven(at least with spring work) where say SS wall people are useing concrete.
I HAVE tryed my amp's on just 1 battery, 8 inchs form the amp and the engine off....I lost over 5 DB's and my batter was WAY over the size limit. MY goal is to get louder, and removeing my alts and batterys isn't helping me get there.
FYI: 2K= 154.7.... includeing the cost of van,sub's(new),amp's(new),batterys(new),wire,2 alts(new),encloser,tires(new) & wheels(new)....and a transmission.
I don't myself being able to do that in ANY other class.

Yep and i'm building to come back and hopfully place higher than 2006.And park next to a cool guy and play the wait game at finals again it was the highlight of the show.

I just saw the newest class changes...and now I'm wondering if I'll be playing this year or not. I'll probably go to finals to party and get drunk anyway...but probably won't be playing this season.

My whole plan was to get a suburban/yukon xl and do 6 18s under the window line, few decent batteries, and 10/12kw
Should be able to get close to a 160 out of that in a daily driver which no way I could do that with the old NW walls with a daily driver setup ya know?
