It may bring out some old cars but it will mean some current ones dropping out.

Something has to change or soon extreme classes will keep getting smaller and possibly might have no classes eventually.

there is a lot of extreme vehicles that might get back into game. Alot of the extremes that either thought the bandpass design was very smart but felt it pocketed the mic in a small box or many could not figure it out and just gave up,they had no chance of even coming close. thier primered armored cars just rusting away in backyard, back in the day there were so many extreme vehicles competing. Now what, there might be 10-15 hard cores in US? that is sad.in usac there was only 3 this year?. alot of guys would like to see more vehicles compete, get the juice flowing again before it dies out. the only guys competing extreme all have the same bandpass anyways, 1 woofer can do 180+ anyways. so really what does it matter if it is all in one class. They should make 2 classes one with multiple walls (bandpass) and one for the other 50-70+ extreme vehicles that can do a solid 170 with 1 wall (old school ,multiple woofers, a interior that somewhat resembles a real car ,just reiforced, and has to fit 2 avg. size adults ,the jaime delapaz's ,ED EASON'S,jay lovelaces, tim maynors, alma gates, l&m electronics, comeback with the fun days .these systems had grunt!. making it hard to do a 170 would make the game more fun. we all know that extreme cars can punch out a 180, that is great and all but can the mics really get accurate past 182+? problably not. this would keep wayne from having to jeeg up the setup he has NOW spend more money on mics. It would be like real dragracing with handicaps to stay in brackets for mod classes. Either way we need to bring it back to earth, and get some of these guys competing again and have a fun class to do it with. And maybe make it where you can do both classes BANDPASS AND 1 WALL. THAT WOULD BE FUN.

THE REASON FOR COMBINING CLASSES IS LACK OF INTEREST,NO NEED FOR ALL THE CLASSES with only a few competing. WITH THE OLDSCHOOL SETUPS THERE WERE WAY MORE COMPETITORS AND NEEDED BIG WOOFER CLASSES TO BREAK IT UP. WITHOUT INTEREST IT WILL DIE, LETS GET MORE PEOPLE TO COMPETE AGAINST, INSTEAD OF THE FEW SAME GUYS in past 3-4 years ANYWAYS. NEW, YOUNG BLOOD AND some OLD SCHOOL BLOOD GUYS CAN HAVE A REASON TO PUT 15 SUBS IN HIS RIDE.(remember Ed easons van!) And make a reason to have more classes. The way it is now, only a handful are competing,it doesnt get much worse.Something has to change or soon classes will keep getting smaller.
Make a REAL challenge , make it hard as hell to get a 170 and it will be respected. have a class for the guys that run the bandpass, open up a handicapped limited class for extreme vehicles for more to come on board and get the vehicles involved again. I know of at least 12 or so guys from team XS or GATOR's crew, and others that have extreme vehicles that could put them to use.Jaime at CES told Roger he missed it all also.I remember when It was so much fun to get a chance even to get a invite to world finals . you had to be in the top 100 in your class! Now there not enough, now they want to combine the classes just so there would be enough to bracket.

me just starting in extreme 1 this year i was excited . i know i'm by far not the loudest but, i'm on a limited budget and this is my hobby that i relax with on the weekends and have fun now with all classes jammed together small guys like myself and i'm sure a few others don't even stand a chance
especially since 90 percent of the extreme comptetitors are super secretive this was suppose to be for fun and basically bragging rights now noone wants to help anyone unless they run thier equipment
and that my friends is just wrong
now i prolly shouldn't be saying these things cause i'm sure a few of you will be angered but it needed to be said
just remember noone that asks for help wants the winning formula just a push in the right direction
i love this sport and i want to do it for a long time so lets make it fun and competitive again
cause right now there are alot of stuck up selfish people in this sport which is why (seeing over the yeatrs competeing in street ) there is noone to fill brackets thank you

I totally agree with Mike Jones. We need more competitors in this sport, and I think these changes will bring them...As for a comment that was made a few days ago by someone else stating that "if you cant play with the big dogs then stay of the porch",Most people dont have big sponsors with deep pockets...I think that these new rules will attract new competitors and old retired ones as well and at the same time make competing more fun as there will be more vehicles in each class under the new rules...I think Mike jones worded it perfectly...Vernon..Team MELTDOWN/Sydney-Australia

Well said everyone is not getting any breaks consider this when you try to bring new or old cars back. I know I am out of pocket with what I run so is alot of others. If more competitors had more chances with help the field would be alot more competitive. But I know there is no real answer for this because alot of sponsers have went to other sports.

I really dont understand why all these people with old EX cars will suddenly come out and compete if theres a new class.

WTF is stopping them now, its not all about winning. Anywho on a local level they probably would win.

what is the point of the bandpass design anyway? I'm not in extreme class, but why just box the mic in? it doesn't even resemble the interior of of vehicle anymore, anyone knows if you put the mic in a small sealed enclosure with a 15" sub facing it you will get 180db+. And what happens when we pass 190db, what sort of meter will be developed to measure it? A PSI meter or a reichter scale lol. My point is that extreme should never have changed from the beginning, it was more "real" back then and there was competitors everywhere you looked. Each time a new change happens (ie rule changes, new rules etc) it has an adverse reaction and is always going to upset someone. If anything, if they want to attract newcomers why not make a new class! Amatuer Class.
Just my thoughts...

Feel free to box a 15 and put the mic in it, get 174db and your doing damn well.

As for why bandpass, its called progression. What Mikko came up with is the best design ever, nothing comes close.

Why did it change, because people broke rules. Then the rules got tougher and designs got better.

Do you even have any idea how these EX cars work because all I can see from your post is a bunch of snivelling and whining about something that doesnt even matter to you.
