If you have small country like Finland.

There is only few competitors in extreme.
When these few arent in same class they help each other.

Like now we have saaristo in ext1, mikko in ext2
and we have room for new ext3-4 competitor if
some one wants to raise class.

The opponent comes other country.

If you change rules for extreme so I abandon my project :-(. Not that I should fear but I build everything own my money so that with not take so far to if you compound ranks was I capable of competing.
I think so if you change rules at start of season dB Drag wil come for mauch competitors in all ranks.
Primarily I be surprised but that you hedge to all Wayne:-(

I know nothing has been posted publicly, but I hope that what is being talked about in the judges forum isnt what I heard the extreme class is going to go to. If so then the street classes should be changed to CRX and non-CRX. [Sad] Its no different, except that I guess it comes down to what is more profitable for DB Drag.

why change the rules AFTER the season has started . my as well just change the rules during the middle or end of the season IMO . i believe the persons with the most clout on this topic are the current top extreme competitors and long time veterans of the sport.life isn't always fair as we all know . if money wasn't an issue at all ,we would all have top of the line loud rides . having help and sponsorship is earned one way or another.period .
it is not ever free .
if i build my ride in the freezing cold or a heated garage ,is my choice .i have to pay for the garage use one way or another and "earn the right".
some of the rules discussions seam to surroud "rules against certain successes " by certain designs or vehicles .

any clarification and facts yet from DB Drag ?

I certainly hope along with many other veteran extreme competitors, that there at least 2 extreme classes or more based on number of subs preferably. I have been building a new extreme vehicle from scratch since november of 2006 and it will be finished for this season. I had hopes of running in extreme 1 because of keeping costs low. I would be very dissapointed if it becomes an open extreme class where I will be at even more of a disadvantage than I already am being a newbie so to speak. My build however does not reflect my inexperience though. It will be one of the strongest built vehicles on the circuit hopefully. Thanks to all of those that have helped in this build with their tips and advice. you know who you are. Keep extreme alive!

oooooooo yes i was thinking about build monster car in my volvo, if is all about loud i do monster class!!!!
1 class is not fair for the guys that work all day in regular job ,and weekends work in they hobby... like me ...i don't have time like same guys that got payd to build spl cars!the extreme class can't be only one...
1 sub can do up to 180s ,2 subs is possible to go up to 181db , with 3 or more 182 is very possible , then why make one class ,if every one here knows that 2 subs is louder then 1 sub !!!!

Arent the judges at shows allowed to combine classes if there isnt enough competitors to fill brackets? If so they should already be combining extreme classes at 1x shows so only having 1 extreme class wouldnt change cost of trophies

I know I am not very loud compared to the other extreme guys but atleast with the classes separated I can be somewhat competitive until I learn how to get my vehicle loud. Slowly but surely we are working our way there but I am going against some people that have been doing this for 5 + years and this is my 3rd year. I am totally against the 1 class idea and I am all about supporting change but not change that would make my hard work and money obsolete because I would not even register on the loud meter compared to the rest of you. I hope Wayne considers what the outcome would be making a big change like this to the extreme class, if he decides to do it.

Good luck to everyone in 2008!

I don't understand all the discussions about the extreme classes. Where is the big problem of the division E1 , E2 , E3-4 and E5+, everything works!!!

i esk him to not change an if he keeps extreme 1 i will be on! but if he makes all 1 class i will go the most extreme can be do!!!!Dani competitors like you that start to get deeper in the design need separet classes... i think they need stop change and keep the ex1 , ex2 , ex3-4 , ex5+ because every one here knows how spl works, more woofers...more spl, more power... more spl... i love to see every thin the way has ben!! thanks to post your opinion!!!! Really hate to hear this. I dont understand how classes can be changed when we are over 4 months into the new season.
I hope that this doesnt drive as many competitors away as I think its going to. If there is going to be 2 separate extreme classes it shouldnt matter what kind of design is used.
I said it in another post, if one class is going to be separated for this then street class should be split up based on design as well.
Again... very sad to see this happen.

If this is more than nasty rumour and if they really do this dramactic changte in this point of season it can cause serious problems.

I am quite sure that no one from SS3-4 or ext classes wasn't prepare that their classes will be dropped during this season.
