why would you play louder with equipment that you replace ? put it in your car at the furst burp ! and if you play louder with the new equipment its still your own equipment so who cares.
See the difference in his score from the entire season up to finals back in 2001? Ask me how he went from qualifying with a 161 at finals that year to doing a 167.8 in brackets and I'll tell you it was before that rule was in place! He changed nothing but his woofers and had that gain...
So, as you can see, it would be completely unfair to make those who worked their butts off for an invite to finals adhere to that rule and not force those that are only going to regionals to adhere as well...extreme gains can be realized by changing out subs or amps...to say otherwise is to not have been at 2001 finals! Bottom line, all must adhere to the actual rules for finals if for no other reason to protect those that earned their spot to be there!
honestly mrbump, I think you are being unreasonable to continue trying to make this distinction when so many competitors worked to earn their right to attend finals...
perhaps wayne himself will come in and end this one once and for all?

personally i think if your not elidgable to compete at finals you should be thankfull that you got invited to the event and shouldnt whine and moan about not wanting the events rules to apply to you.

Mike this isnt about what should or shouldnt happen.
This is 100% about the writing in the rule book.
It is totally clear on this.
All I am saying is the rule book should have been changed to accomodate any changes in the WFs before the season started.
dB Drag rules, the written variety, are not good.

You cant force people that dont meet WF criteria to adhere to WF rules!
there are some competitors that havnt qualified for WFs so how can you force them to adhere to a set of rules that are defined for WFs only?
You cant.
"they" (dbdrag) can do whatever they want. these are rules not laws.
anyone with an invite and paying to compete in WORLD FINALS, must abide by the rules.
you are misunderstanding the concept and calling it regionals, nationals, and world finals...
go to the world finals page.. is it called 9 different events.
no..
its ONE event, world finals 10.
it's a 4x point event.. EVERYONE in brackets gets 4x points.
it IS world finals, and all people must compete in world finals rules. whether they got an invite to the regional only or not.
furthermore, rules have been stated, they must follow them.
no one forced anybody to accept an invite or compete at finals.
there are plenty of people that chose to decline thier invites.
anyone who doesnt want to follow the SAME RULES as everyone else, should probably have stayed home then.

Jay, not that I/we are attending or competing but my invite states "regional" finals.
Not a mention of WF anywhere.
The whole point of my replies to this thread is to point how much of a shambles the rules currently are.

In Indy Finals Starts at 9am on Saturday and ends Sunday at 4pm
All WF competitors must follow the rules for WF. Once the event has started you cannot change equiptment unless it is blown up. If you change for the Regionals then you DQ yourself for WF.
The page listing the times for the venues Says World Finals 2007 when I find a page for Regionals I might change my mind.
