How long do you think it would take to run a show if each turn in the lane was 5 minutes rather than 30 seconds?

I personally would like to see a mix of what your proposing with the current time limits. Make it a 30 second run but you have to run for the whole time. The score for the whole run could be averaged as with a 5 minute DM.

I think it would still come close to having the desired impact without making shows take forever.

I would agree, even 30 seconds would help a ton so long as most of the other restrictions were in place!

although I respect what people are doing in bass race..they are simply two totally different animals! a 30 second test tone being used to maintain the highest possible score vs 30 seconds of music with a specific goal spl of **9.9 aren't even close to being the same...I would chose the 30 second tone any day, personally!

30 Second tone has no practicality for the greater mass of people buying 12 volt product.

Neither does the "burp".

It is great for us few hundred guys that know what we are doing.

Bass Race is great for bringing people to this hobby.

Bass Boxing is even better.

The less scientific we go, the better and more enjoyable it will be for the industry and the consumers.

The "burp" and the "tone" were the destructive note that hurt Audio competition.
