The purpose of this thread is to answer specific questions that competitors may have regarding dB Drag Racing and/or Bass Racing rules.

Many of your questions may have already been discussed and/or answered by our officiating staff and veteran competitors. If you feel that your question has not been adaquetly answered, or if you would like further clarification, please post your question here.

Please keep in mind that the answers given here should be considered advice only. The only real way to give a determination on many rules questions is to actually see the installation in person.

Please state your question carefully.

Please search the dB Drag Racing and/or Bass Race rule book for answers before posting your question here.

Please do not "hijack" these Q&A threads.

Are competitors allowed to cut the metal tabs in the spare well of a CRX?

(used to hold the spare tyre and jack in place)

Are the rear seat backs supposed to be to fully function, as in, being able to lock back in the upright position without the box or enclosure, or amplifiers mounted to the box or enclosure being in the way? Or in other words obstructing the chair from being fully functional. This post is specifically meant for cars with their boxes or enclosures behind the seats and in the cargo areas of these types of cars.

Electrical Systems/Amplifier Question:

Do the current rules prevent the use of "commercial" Amplifiers, an any class.

For example, a Crown MA5002VZ, powered by the vehical electrical system via a 50+ Amp inverter.

When can we expect the new rules for 2008 to come out? Or - are they out? And if they ARE out - where can I find a copy that I can print out?

I am trying to figure out what class I am going to run - or should install for [Smile]

Thank you,

I was adding some deadener mat to my front doors today and had a question about it for the Street classes. The rules state that you can have a max of two layers, one on the outside panel and one on the inside panel. Well I noticed that I couldn't reach the top of the outside door panel to apply any deadener to it. All I could reach was the lower half. Now since I can't get a layer of deadener across the entire outside panel can I apply a double layer to the top half of the inside panel and a single layer across the lower half? I would still be using the same amount of deadener either way.

really close to finals but maybe we will get an answer. In a Crx if you have amps, batteries extruding from the spare tire well do you need to have the cover for the spare area.

if your tire cover can be put in place properly, thenit is required. if your amps are sticking out then you need to have all metal covered.

That doesn't sound right, It should be one way or the other. Either you have to have the cover in place with any amps under it or over it, or you don't need it at all. I've heard that the west coast judges have different rules about what is acceptable in Stock classes compared to the east coast judges. You might want to find a judge thats doing the Indy Finals and ask them.

I think that 2 runs in SA are not enough. I think it must be minimum 4, because a lot of small amp (4kw, 5kw) can be powered with allready 4 cables (2+ and 2-)
